That said, I really, really want to go crazy with audio when I can afford to. It's so interesting to me. Plus my headphones have made everything else sound like garbage.
I disagree with that. I don't really consider myself an audiphile at all, but I can definitely appreciate the difference between a crappy HTIB system (which is basically what you're getting for $300) and the stuff I have (which is mostly what I consider entry level). I think I'm probably into my audio for around $2k? I don't have a sub though. My cheap boston acoustics one broke. I need one, but spending money elsewhere at the moment.

I have it to some extent, I used to play guitar, piano, and sax... however there is diminishing returns and the biggest difference that I can tell is the higher end to me systems can get very loud and still be crystal clear.

You've got an interest in the **** though and are actually spending money, and generally you're not an idiot.

I'm talking about the douche that goes into best buy and buys "audiophile" **** there.

Well my stuff can be purchased at BB, which is why I say its basically entry level. Though I think the magnolia store at best buy has a good selection of receivers. They are only missing some boutique brands like Anthem. Though I don't think I would spend the money on one of those brands unless I am venturing into separates. Best buy carries Martin Logan and B&W which are pretty nice brands for speakers. But they don't have a wide selection of speakers.

I think you can get a good system at BB, but its not going to be the Sony HTIB for $500 or that comes free with the purchase of an overpriced TV. If you're willing to pick out individual components and spend a bit more you will do way better than the HTIBs they seem to push and not have to buy online or at a boutique store.

Though everything I say is really geared towards Home Theater audio. I'm not a big music person and don't really care about car audio.

Shattered my phones screen. Any ideas to fix it other than going to Apple? I just feel like they're going to mark it up so much.

iPhone? I believe you can buy screens on ebay and try to DIY it, or there are usually places around that will fix it for you.

Damnit wrong thread.

Over slept and missed my 'appt' with the car dealer. I think I'm just going to spend the 7-8k and fix my car. Then buy a truck when it's done.

Speaking of audio, I was considering selling my home theater stuff the other day to a coworker since I have less than 10 hours on everything and I added up retail on everything and it was ~$7,200 including my TV. I don't remember spending that much at all.
