Take it to your local marina and have them use bottom paint on the rims so they don't corrode

Depends on the material. Aluminum? Needs to be powder coated or anodized if it isn't chromed. Steel? A wire brush and some spray paint will work. Magnesium? Carbon Fiber? Touch them and die.

He said "rims" and is a broke college student

Magnesium and CF are obviously huge possibilities.

Plastidip. $50ish for a lot of colors.

New colors. These also come in a fluorescent.

And you can put this over any color if you want a gloss finish

Applied correctly it won't peel off on its own unless you hit a curb hard enough to break it.

Plastic dip is solid , unless you live in the northeast where they put a lot of salt on the roads then it will look like **** because of corrosion . In that case head to your local marina and tell them you want them painted with bottom paint .

Just anodize them. Best way to get a decent finish for cheap.

Pretty sure anodizing car wheels is way more expensive than just going the obvious route of having a professional job done by getting them powdered.

Pretty sure that I set up an anodizing station in my garage for $50.

Bull****, I've painted several rims made of aluminum by just sanding them and doing 2-3 coats of a good spray paint like krylon. They've also held up super well I go offroading with them frequently, they get pressure cleaned every week or so and sometimes even left in water for a while. All of them have held up and look the same as they did 2 years ago.

Just plasti-dip them its easier than spraypaint and super easy to touch up if anything.

I've also painted aluminum wheels with spray paint. It does not hold up well and the paint will easily flake.
