My cousin recently purchased a TM-15 for woodsball. However, he has been getting into speedball recently.

How well can the TM-15 perform for speedball? Is it worth it to buy a seperate marker just for speedball?

Some guy at an AXBL tourney used a TM-15, and he did pretty good with it. so it's possible.

The first difficulty is the safety shots built in, as well as the trigger isn't great for walking. Throw in a Flasc double trigger and put the spring mod in and it'll be a lot better. The other issues are size .. it's a pretty long marker and the built in sound suppression isn't really a benefit on the speedball field.

I'd recommend picking up a cheap Invert Mini. The technology is about the same so teching both is easy and it'll be a lot more compact for the field.

I 2nd the mini idea. He can definitely use the TM-15 if he is just starting out, but if he really wants to compete he's going to want a lighter and tighter setup. Can't beat a mini for the price.

i 3rd for the mini...thats what im currently using. it is INSANLEY light, shoots incredibly fast!! my setup is a rotor, mini w/empire on/off, and a ninja 50/4500, and it keeps up with egos, geos, luxes, everything else! definatly pick one up!

i own a tm15 and it is really nice for woodsball. it is a little bulky for speedball but i make it work. overall i would recommend the gun

Sometimes for close quarters I take the stock off my tm15 and replace it with a d-ring. In this mode its now much lighter and maneuverable. Not quite as light as speedball guns, but much lighter than most woodsball guns at that point.

I own a Mini, which is what made me but a TM15 for woodsball. After twenty minutes, I traded the TM15 in on an Axe, which I now use for both. The TM15 is sweet, but I found it to be far too bulky, especially with the tank on it (stopped using remotes because I like to shoot ambidextrous). Now I use the Axe for woodsball too. Making yourself a larger target is never good, especially on a speedball field. I would also suggest a Mini.

I have a tm15 with double trigger kit and the rf transmitter in the gun and rip clip. I haven't played with it yet since I just did the upgrades but it very nice just dry firing. Since you have the double trigger you can just fire in semi auto mode with the tournament lock on for speedball. It's just the size the would be kinda wierd for speedball.

Wouldn't this make it more appropriate for tournament play?
As I understand it, what BT and Tippmann are calling "safety shots" is a way of explaining the ramping modes tournament players have been using for years.

By default the TM series is very difficult to fire quickly, single trigger, weird spring return etc. If you put the Flasc Double Trigger and spring mod in then yes, you could put it into 'ramping' mode instead and make it more like a speedball marker. However it's a very long marker and not very light, even if you remove the stock and have a tank mounted, it's still pretty cumbersome compared to most speedball markers.

You can use it, it's just not optimal.

yea, the offset hopper doesn't really reduce profile either. Maybe the LE version with the chopped up hand guard and with the stock removed might be ok, but you would still need a double trigger as stated before.
