congrats on the purchase. It will be a good marker for you. Try downloading the manual for your marker from the stickies and read up on it. You'll also want to download the virtue manual for the board so you'll know what the blinking lights represent.

There are still some parts around for it. Trolling B/S/T for older parts is the best way to find them. One of the most preferred upgrades is finding a new trigger that you like.

Some still show up on ebay from time to time.

good luck and have fun

Welcom the laFamilia les'Dye
The dm4 is an awesome gun, your gonna be satisfied for sure.
The only thing with those are that they are quite heavy on gas compared to newer dm's due to the large bolt chambers, but nothing after it comes close to the smoothness and softness of it. It's quite a large gun as well, so it's super steady.

+1 on previous poster. Trigger is the only thing you may want to look in to, maybe an Orange bolt if you want better efficiency. This imo contradicts the reason for getting a dm4 rather than a 6 though. Other than the price

Happy hunting

Thanks guys I appreciate it. Is there anyway I could drop a ul frame on this with an oled board? Also would the new dye regulator make it more gas efficient? My brother does machining so he may be able to get that new regulator to work on the dm4.

You may find an ULframe that fits, but finding an oled board that does is quite harder I think.

The only thing a new reg will do is recharge faster/more stable, so your fps spread is smaller, ie it doesn't sway as much over the chrono.

The only thing you can do to consume less air is drop your dwell, change to an orange bolt/lighter
Bolt or top hat mod it.

Honestly, I am not sure about the virtue board, but now when you . I have a seventh element pathfinder OLED board for my dm10, which is the same as the ul grips gen1: dm4-10, if you got any interest.

Those roller triggers are nice

there are a few UL frames floating around out there still (UL frame for DMC/DM4/DM5).

I'm not 100% sure if the OLED board would fit that specific UL frame. I know it fits UL frames from DM6-DM9.

I would say save your money and not buy the new regulator. They actually make the hyper3 that has standard threading that will fit the DM4/5/6/7 (sometimes referred to as the hyper 4). The only reason I ponied up for one is b/c my reg took a dump so i needed a new one anyways. Not worth paying for as an "upgrade" IMO.

So I take it that the dm5 grips won't fit the dm4.... like custom stinger grips that only list dm5'sit's not like I need faster than 13bps abyways Lol.

I have a UL'ed AKA Viking with a DM5 frame (that has a Tadao OLED board in it) and it uses a board that is compatible with my UL'ed PM6 (I've swapped out the two). If the DM4 frame is compatible with the DM5, then putting a Tadao in it shouldn't be any trouble at all.

Personally, I don't like the stinger grips, so I cut my original stickies and put a piece of lexan in there so I could see the OLED screen. To me, this was satisfactory on my PM6, but when I moved the board over to my Viking, I wanted it to look a little bit more clean, so I had Jared at Destructive Customs mill them (he still has them, so I can't post pics). If you aren't as picky as me (putting a pair of hacked grips on a marker that beautiful would have been sacrilege), you can make your old grips work just fine.

It was a UL frame... I never had a DM5, so I didn't ever have the stock frame. I just got that frame because it was flat on top.

You haven't looked hard enough!

This guy, harjukewm, always has tons of misc DM/PM stuff. He has a couple DMC/4/5 UL frames right now. That's the guy I got my DM5 UL frame from.

i wouldn't throw your money away on DM4/5 grips if you plan on getting a UL frame. You'll probably want to upgrade those grips depending on condition.

Take your time looking for the UL frame - they aren't always being sold right now. Sometimes it takes a month or so before one pops back up on B/S/T.

Dye europe has UL frame for DM5 send an email to Dye and ask for a UL Frame DM5.

The Virtue oled fits any UL frame, except the SLG UL and the PMR 11 and 12 UL, for the original frames DM4 and DM5 of the Vitue, only there is the chip.

Regrads
