The VLAN info for the unmanaged switch port is 10.65.1.X 255.255.255.0 10.65.1.1. I have an IDF closet with a rack of switches (building 9) on a total different VLAN. Building 9 has a fiber homerun back to the 3500 HP. I have an extra port in a VLAN9 HP Managed switch that I need to make the same as the 10.65.1.X VLAN. Is this possible?
Erm, put the unmanaged switch on the same MGMT VLAN (Not Service VLAN) VLAN's don't require IP's and DNS etc..... They are just tagged with a number (generally 1-9999) and pushed out to its destination with the switches routing.
do your switches allow for VLAN stacking?
