what can i try to do, to make it boot up, and see if the board is the problem?

throw it on charge, let it sit?

You can build a test battery out of AA's and a plastic harness from Radio Shack to rule out the battery as the cause. If the board boots okay with your test battery, you'll know it's a battery problem. If the board still does the same thing, you'll know it's a board problem.

Get a AA battery holder like this: http://www.frys.com/product/2966075?...FcN_Qgod5BEAsw

Should be available at your local Radio Shack or other hobby store (you don't necessarily have to get a holder for the precise number of AA's you need - you can use paperclips to bridge the empty cells if you get a larger one)

Cut your battery wires about halfway down where they will be easy to splice back together. Splice the plug end onto your AA battery holder. Fit your AA batteries into the holder and plug the test battery pack into the battery port on your board. See if the board boots up normally.

I've had to rig up a kit like that before. It works great.

That's why I do that. It's easy and no damage.

best explanation. Obviously the board functions, so battery is the most likely culprit.
