Im spitballing an idea around the office here, hoping it takes root and I can get the OK from the owner to run with it. What I want to do is have an in-house, searchable index of documents that cover the county I work in. Document numbers here are up in the million and a half to date, but that goes back a long time, 1854 or so. Granted, more docs record daily today than back then, but whatever. Anyway, does anyone know how much Id be looking at to have someone design me a program that could handle that need? Id want to be able to fill in the database (of course), and have it searchable by a couple dozen variables such as names, parcel numbers, legal descriptions (subdivisions, survey maps, and metes and bounds) I also want to be able to attach a PDF scan of a document to an entry, so I can just pull it up from my desk. When a search is run, I want it to return a list of documents that affect that property sort of like this:

DocNumber RecordedDate Grantor Grantee ParcelNumber Legal Description References LinkToPDF

Am I looking at something exceptionally complex, or is this something that is doable at a relatively absorbable cost? Having this kind of database in the office is something that can add a ton of real value to a title company, as well as give the staff something to work on when things are slow.

So you're basically looking for something like Oracle Forms Recognition, but something someone can actually afford?

Maybe not even that smart for the program. Something along the lines of Fidlar's Laredo, or SoftPro's Title Search would be ideal. It's really centralized on the database entry, with the document images being a "nice to have so we don't have to get them from the county" linked item.

Not to crap on the sites parade Ben, but right now cup is on, and it reminds me of the scene from Trainspotting, they are in the bar and the Edinburgh Festival, having a pint, and not giving a flying **** about anything....

Only thing that would make me watch it, Bob Long Vs. Live Grisly Bear hand to hand no weapons, well that and a mass outbreak of dysentery to obscure the BS that is "pro" paintball.....

Never seen Trainspotting.

I've got the webcast on as background noise while working up files at the office. I've been fairly content with the 'cast so far... pro paintball really is leaps and bounds better than it used to be.

Anyone else catch the two new G6R bodies from the last 24 hours? Dragon (which I've known about since NPPL Chicago/LL5) and Status. I like them both.

Check out Elastic Teams and call them up some time.

My father and this angel investor person (Philip) run the shtick and so far they've done programming for companies like illumina (sizeable Medical Science Corporation) and others. They are pretty much the cheapest service even I could find and it's actually pretty incredible what they can do for so cheap.

Like CHEAP cheap.

As in **** cheap.

Relatively speaking.

Dude! You have to mass produce and sell those board mods! They'll help bring back angels and can bring you fat stacks.

Like $15 apiece + S&H or something for delrin with 1 screw or something.

I've known about every G6R released, but I couldn't say a word lol.

How is the family, Ben?

You could have told us "all 7 cuts will be pretty mediocre, don't get your hopes up guys "

Seriously the dragon was their best shot at doing it right, and its pretty under designed in the art department. If I HAD to pick a g6r it would be the original.

They're not really my style (but then I didn't like the originals that they're based on either), however, I have to give BL credit for being the last gun manufacturer in the industry doing actual milling on PL models.

thirded.

Something's up.

I mean, I understand that the goal is to keep weight at a minimum and that's incredibly difficult if you want a snazzy design... but I mean even a tad more on smaller details to fill it in?

The flatness at the bottom of the body just slaughters the design.

Albeit with the premium kit and that no-pro bolt, it will be ****in bo-omb.
