Getting back into paintball.

Hey guys, I'm looking to get back into paintball. I was mainly into air ball/x ball and owned mostly electronic markers. I'm looking to get into more of a milsim type scene if you know what I mean. Paints so expensive so I'll be using mech markers. How much should I be looking at spending on a basic setup?(mask, hopper?,tank, gun, possibly a remote line) I don't want to spend much I'd like to keep my setup under 250$ for the tank gun and hopper and mask if possible but no more than 300. Yeah I know I'm cheap but I don't want to spend much, I was looking at the tip man's and I like the cyclone feed and I love the t9.1's. So how much am I looking at if I want a tippman with a cyclone feed installed, tank, mask, and a remote line if the gun has a stock, so that would be a salvo or alpha black?

Just an example, found on ANSGear. Pretty much as you described you wanted, although I'm not a big fan of the particular mask included in the package.

thats a horrible package

Smart parts SP1
Guerilla air 48/3000k
tippmann SSL hopper
spectra thermal mask

that will put you at 260$ and is leaps and bounds better than a co2 feed a5, plus those goggles are garbage to

to be honest I wouldnt mess with a non flexvalve tippmann(although I own a phenom and love it, its a little over your budget)

I'm personally not as much into the Cyclone system, but since the thread started specified it, that limits us to the 98 with a Cyclone, A5, or X7 family. That'd be why I brought up that particular package - it has everything he's asking about.

same.

The cyclone feed is not anything to write home about.

honestly if you have to have the cyclone(which I personally like alot) get the mech x7 phenom used

everything else is a unregulated blowback and all the upgrades in the world would still make it worse than the stock phenom

Well I would also be willing to buy used. If I got a cyclone wouldn't I save money?

If you're not 100% dedicated to the Cyclone system, there's a whole world of opportunities out there. The Cyclone just happens to be Tippmann's way of having a "powered" feeder integrated into their guns. That's nothing any powered hopper can't or won't do, and probably better than the Cyclone. Even something as simple as a $30 used HALO will work great, and be something you can move up with you as you get other guns.

Going used? That really opens things up. Browse around in the BST section to see what's out there. There's a TON of options that can make a player very, very happy. Plus, with World Cup just around the corner, the used market is going to see lots of prices come down as the 2012 stuff hits the used side and people jump into the 2013 guns.

Even if you get a mech gun a compressed air tank and an electric loader (assuming you decide not to get the A-5) would be good investments.

Guess it also depends on what milsim look your going for. The SP-1 that ANS has new is a good deal, but depends if you like the hopper on top, or side. Personally I would go that route, have a SP-1 that was my 1st marker and I still have it.
You can find everything you need in the BST, but you may want to get a new tank, depending on the date of a used one. I would not go the co2 route.
