What is it on the powercore xanatos. Just as needed or when a leak develops. I clean mine after every day of play, but I've heard it needs to be cleaned and lubed after 3-5 cases. Is this true?

I clean my bolt before every use. Clean my reg when I get bored. If you're not having issues - leave reg alone.
Cleaning bolt and relubing keeps the o-ring from breaking down faster. When you leave your luxe sitting after playing or in your gear back dust/dirt/debris gets in the breach and on the bolt. When you play with that on there it spreads.. Takes 5 minutes to lube the bolt - save yourself the headache down the line and take 5 minutes out of your day before playing.

Agree with pretty much everything posted above. I recommend cleaning and lubing your powercore before (or after) every use, it's not too difficult and it is more of a preventative measure than anything. Depending on the conditions you play in you may be able to GET AWAY with waiting, but playing russian roulette with the quality your luxe performs at isn't a good idea.

My schedule has always been about 10 cases for the bolt. Over lubing is just as bad as underlubing.

What to do?
The manual says "The Luxe® should be disassembled and cleaned any time it shows erratic performance, becomes contaminated with paint, dirt or other debris, or for preventative maintenance after 3 or 4 days of use."
The questions is, how do I know if it was contaminated with dirt or not after a day of playing in a dirty squirrel infested paintball field.
The various opinions in this thread seems typical of what i have found throughout the net on cleaning the bolt.
I've also read that a spool needs more cleaning than a poppit and most people seem to clean the bolt after/before a day of use; so to be safe, i will lube her after every day of play. After all, she's good looking, has been good to me, and whispers sweet nothings in my ear.

....."Powering on, battery level 100%, firing mode - millenium."
I could switch her on and off all day to hear that

UNLESS! You completely clean before re-greasing like you're supposed to. Lol
I happen to play in an indoor field on industrial astro turf, with rubber granulates as padding, which without cleaning ends up in the eye ports and other random spots. Hence why I clean it after every single use.

Just because you wipe the parts down before lubing means little. Where do you think all the extra lube goes that was on the bolt before you used the gun? It goes down the barrel and into the noid and manifold. I've seen quite a few guns that had manifolds so thick with lube that they wouldn't cycle. Very thin coats is all you need and only on the orings themselves. Putting 20k cycles on a stock bolt before lubing is nothing compared to the use able life of the orings.
