A nooby question, but here goes...
What does fop mean? I see it all the time on event pages and whatnot, but I can't seem to find the answer online. Thanks for your help,

I assume you mean FPO: Field Paint Only, which means you can not bring your own paint and must buy paint from the field to play.
The opposite is BYOP, Bring Your Own Paint.

Gyvanth is probably spot on. One thing to remember about FPO events and fields is that they tend to take shooting off field paint pretty seriously. My local fields will do paint checks at random if they suspect someone is using off field paint and will have them leave if caught. You may think it's a bit harsh but paint sales are the major source of revenue for many fields, and they often have signs posted everywhere.

Gyvanth pretty much answered it.
Callsignmagic add further good info.
I just want to add that not only is FPO used to generate revenue but it also helps fields with their insurance costs.

It is also a safety issue. Some paint is harder than others and some paint will stain clothes and equipment. Many fields have FPO rules because they know exactly what kind of paint is being used. They know how hard it is and if it will stain. This also ties into the whole insurance thing.

Field paint only. Gets the field a nice little profit and keeps people from trying to bring Monster balls. At my field, when they have scenarios, they let people BYOP(bring your own paint), but paint check everyone.
