Anybody know why? I mean it seems every gun I see that older and most pumps have a CP regulator. Why? Is it purely on the fact they are cheaper than your SL3 and Bob long 360?

Pretty much that although I really am a fan of the 360 myself. About the same price and a lot easier to service. The newer gen CPs (the two piece ones) come apart fairly easily but out of the 3 or 4 original CP regs I owned I could never get the suckers apart even with towel-wrapped vice and a hex key through the top.

Lordy. I just hate seeing classic guns with CP regs slapped on them. Like a SL66 with a CP reg makes me want to cry.

Yeah I hate seeing that too. Pretty much anything past like 2005 or 2006 has a stock reg that a CP is either worse than or not noticeably better.

I once saw a guy toss away a perfectly good stock regulator on an SL74. Seems like he wanted his CP "upgrade" more and didn't care about the better reg his gun already had.

Cp regs aren't that great, honestly pretty comparable to a stock ion reg. good flow, mediocre consistency
Even low/mid ends come with as good if not better regs than cp makes.

I could only guess that players sell their old guns with CP regs, and keep the stock regs cuz they wanna hang onto something better to use on any used guns they aquire in the future. For instance, if they buy a used gun that has a CP reg instead of its stock reg, so they swap it with their saved reg... then get rid of the CP reg they just got by slapping it on a different gun they're selling... and i just confused myself.

I think a lot of people use it because it's simple and inexpensive. Not sure why people don't like stock regs though.

I think it's mostly the people just getting into the high end game that's use to buying upgrades for there ions and DP guns. They just don't understand that whatever comes stock on a $1k+ geo or whatever they have is already better.

So, what testing procedure did you do to come to that conclusion? Or are you just assuming that it is true?

Remember, it wasn't that long ago one of the most expensive guns available had one of the worst tested regs.

Because one person sees someone good using it, they decide to buy one for themselves and then their friends buy one and then those kids brag to other kids and then everyone has one and there's a shortage of cp regs. People start murder and theft over the want of cp regs the population goes down, paintball fields suffer and close the players have no place to play and all commit a mass suicide . The world is in shock and currently has a ban on all cp regs.

That is why old guns have them and the new ones don't. Under the terms of cp reg ban versus court section 7 subsection 7.4, it states all guns with a cp reg currently installed is allowed to keep them on there but no cp regs are allowed to be bought or put onto a gun newer than 07

It is a decently priced, decent reg. there are much better regs out there though. CP is just really mainstream. The best reg IMO is the MacDev gladiator reg.

really? I've never bean a macdev person but I've herd people like the AKA regs too

I tried a CP reg on my old Timmy. It was very inconsistent. My Hyper 2 & 360 performed superbly out of the box. A CP reg would be a downgrade.
