kitesurfing..?

So i live on the beach and theres always alot of kite surfers out there hence the name "kite beach" it seems pretty intense but does look like it would get boring after like a week imo but ive never tried it before and am considering making it a hobby. only reason im hesitant is because the equipment is expensive. Anyone have an opinion on whether its fun and intense or repetative?

Don't know much about kiteboarding or if this is even what your talking about but mobo has excellent tutorial videos, watch some and hopefully it will help you make up your mind.

As a surfer in Florida iv'e been surfing alongside kite surfers/ kite boarders for years and it looks fun as hell if you know what your doing. Iv'e also seen some videos of people getting really ****** up doing it. Looks fun but seems kinda scary if you fall way out in the ocean and have trouble getting your kite back up in the air. There was a guy in i think Jupiter or some place in south Florida that actually got killed by a shark while kite surfing. They love zipping past surfers sitting in the water waiting for a wave, respectful guys though, have never run into any problems with them. It takes some serious balls for sure, might have gotten into it if it wasn't such an expensive sport.

1. Take lessons.
2. Kiteboard only in the correct conditions(Wind direction and/or speed). i.e. don't use a 14M kite with 20 knot winds. You can't depower.
3. Don't go beyond your abilities.

I went this weekend. Not enough wind for a successful day but got what I could out of it.

I'm kiteboarding and I think it's the second best thing in the world after paintball. Most people get a heng of it really quick so just give it a try.
If u like it just keep on and don't be afraid to try new tricks.
