At least post the trailer... lol

I really like Joseph Gordon-Levitt for some reason - no homo. I didn't care for him in GI Joe, but the rest of his recent movies are on point. I feel like he could've been a good replacement for the Joker in TDK because he kind of resembles Heath Ledger. Oh well, he'll be in TDKR anyways...

Saw it tonight. I was pleasantly surprised. Wasn't amazing by any means, but the best thing about it is its originality. Acting wasn't bad, and something about Emily Blunt just gets me hot and bothered. She's hot in a not so hot way. Something I can't explain. I definitely suggest the movie, maybe not movie theater prices worth it, but definitely worth seeing period.

Yeah I saw it yesterday. I thought it was good. As far as enjoyability, I thought it was great. It really is a kind of mashup between The Terminator and 12 Monkeys, and maybe every other time travel movie. But it was really well-written, and the story has heart to it. I found the post-modern world they created to be really intriguing.

And my god, I still can't figure out what they did to JGL's face. But it was awesome. And he changed his speech patterns as well, so he was almost entirely unrecognizable. I really thought that little bit of makeup/effect was rad. I don't know what they did to so convincingly (and I mean that) change his face, but I feel like it's something they should be using in other films to really change up lead actors' faces to take us more into the character and further away from the actor.

I may even prefer JGL with his Looper face, to be honest.

But yeah, good film, definitely worth seeing IMO. It's not a new mind-bending piece of cinema. But they took a premise that wasn't wholly original and used a well-crafted and detail-oriented story to make it something unique and of its own.

Cool stuff. I like the ending. It was well-rounded, and shows how life and people really aren't black-and-white.

I thought it was grade-A action/sci-fi.
It was sort of like The Terminator or 12 Monkeys, but... backwards. Kinda.
My favorite aspect is the way your perception of who the villain and hero is constantly switches, and not just because you learn more background info, but because you're seeing the characters face moral dilemmas and come up with different answers.

Also, it looked like Joseph Gorden Levitt was wearing lipstick.

Yeah I was having a discussion with my buddy about just that yesterday. An aspect I really liked about this was the fact that there really was no 'bad guy' in the film, as they're all just people working with their own motives, which is something that I think is important for realism in films. Or you can view it conversely, as if each person is the villain.

As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I watched it and loved it. The ending is one of those things that you're either gonna think it makes the movie awesome, or you're going to hate it. I was the former. Definitely give it a watch.

I hated the ending
Spoiler: (Highlight this box to see the hidden message.)
he suddenly get's the power to see the future? Also wouldn't his current self seeing the future affect his future self's thoughts so that he realized he didn't have to kill the kid. Also a guy who has shown himself to be very selfish suddenly decides killing himself for the good of a monstrous kid that could still go very well off the deep end is worth it....

He didn't get the power to see the future, you totally took that too literally. He was imagining (and "seeing") what it would be like for the Rainmaker to grow up without a mother again.

It's not like he somehow gained an ability, he was just piecing the puzzle together, that since it happened to the Rainmaker before, that if he didn't do something right then and there, it would happen again and history would repeat itself.

He might have been selfish throughout the movie but he developed a bond with the kid and his mother (obvi) and wanted to keep them alive in order to change the future.

I don't think you gave the ending enough credit. I personally thought it was an awesome movie with a great ending, although it is a hit or miss thing for people it seems.

still his future self's memories immediately changed due to his actions so why not then, and he didn't remember killing the rainmaker's mother in the future so obviously someone else did so his whole suicide was pointlessly delaying the inevitable. Time travel is tricky to not get a bunch of plot holes I suppose and they did really well til the end. I still think it was a really good movie.
