You may have gotten the wrong thread for the barrel. Your gun is probably autococker threaded and only autococker threaded barrels will fit.

No I was talking about the stock barrel that comes with the DPG4 which is a one piece barrel. I thought that the inserts would work on the stock barrel, but they dont fit. Anyone ave any ideas for a barrel that can fit phreak inserts.
sorry if i did not clarify

the inserts only work inside a freak barrel.. so you will have to buy a new barrel.. depending on the gun you will need to buy a "freak back" threaded for your gun than any freak tip inorder to use the inserts.. or if you want a carbon fiber barrel the deadly winds one can take them just make sure you get the right barrel.. or if all else fails you can try and find someone that can bore out the stock barrel to fit the inserts..

Phreak? It may have something to do with the fact that you now own some sort of knockoff from the Freak barrel system.
Deadly wind fibur barrels work with freak inserts. It's a single piece barrel that is super light, and works with freak inserts. i LOVE mine.
or you can buy the freak back, which also works with freak inserts, and then a front piece for the barrel.(which allows you to buy whatever lenght you want. The back piece that holds the inserts is only 5 or 6 inches long, and is threaded to fit the freak barrel front pieces.

Or you can find somebody who will bore out your current barrel so that the freak inserts fit. I don't know how much that would cost, but i've seen threads in the voided warranty section.

However, I would recommend buying used on here so you don't have to spend $90.

Thanks cracker,
The biggest issue is finding someone who is selling one.... HAHA
I get impatient many times searching for things just to say 30 bucks... I don't know.. according to my knowledge does pbnation have a a "barrel" section or is that under accessories/gear/etc.
Thanks.
BTW kinda off topic is it worth ditching my G4 for a better gun like a luxe/geo/ego?

well if i put my money in my G4 will it hold its own compared to the higher end guns?
I dont want to keep pouring money in this gun, if after I upgrade it, im still going to purchase something different

almost any gun can keep up with all the others.. it comes down to do you want to pay for the fancier milling or more options that you may or may not use.. personally i use lower end guns.. because i dont see the need to drop 1200 on a gun that ill only use once a month or less..

Your gun should do fine on the field.

There are a couple of guys on MCarterbrown who will drill out your G4 barrel to fit the Freak inserts. I had it done to my G4 barrel. Here is a link:

Mods if this is not allowed I apologize and please delete.

G4's are great little guns, what you need to ask yourself is what do the high ends have that yours doesn't? the stock regulators perform the same, the g4 has far less o-rings than any dm or similar marker, efficiency is about the same too. things like egos will be more efficient, but louder and not as smooth, the G4 has eyes just like any high end as well. its also very lightweight.
what matters is both can shoot 12.5 bps at 300fps. thats all you need to be competitive. it doesnt "need" anything else to "keep up" with high ends. so now you need to ask yourself if the other guns offer something yours doesnt that makes them worth the extra money.
