Cambridge Ontario.
600.00 players card fee.
Possible 15 cases free per match, worst case scenario 40.00 per case.

this should cut down the mass pms and answer many ?'s for all allot faster !
not sure if that's funny money or not though !

No it's not. Well insomuch as the psp or nppl are concerned.
In let's use psp as an example. Early bird. D2 entry /12= 246. ( if you carry a full roster, and pay on time)
246x5= 1229.... But there's only 3 guaranteed events in Canada so lets use that number. 738.
Let's call paint 200 per event. That's an additional 1000.
Already to 1700+
Now add in travel to Texas, Phoenix, Florida. ( the harder to drive ones) .

Here is 600 up front.
Then paint at 40 a case. Average 20 cases per match. 800/15 is 53 a match. 8 matchs. 426 a year.
Up to 1000+
So now if he gets the 15 per match sponsor that bring the per match cost to 14 per match... So 112 per year.
That's 710 ish.. For the YEAR.
As far as travel:
All of the events are drivable. Ottawa is less than ten hours from Detroit.
All of the events are sat-sun only. So no taking off exorbitant hours from work.

Realistically you could play the entire year in the cxbl for the cost of a single psp flying psp.

I tried to stick to the predictable costs, but I guess I did address then dismiss travel.

Driving;
Those are variable, and can be tailored to the player(s) in question.
You could take the time yourself to see how long it takes you to drive to Cambridge, what your gas milage is and how many people you could fit. It'd about the same as driving to an American event of the same distance, with the same amount of dudes in the car.

Hotels: you only need a Saturday hotel depending on your schedule. You may need a Friday night too if you've got a 0700 game.
Again, split by number of dudes staying... However not having 3-5 nights saves more cash.
Food:
where you eat can vary by hundreds per day if you wanted to. Food in Canada is a hit more expensive. $3-$5 per meal. But even so : 2 days Canadian eats< 3-5 day American of equivalent quality.

All of that can be done for less than 1 plane ticket to Galveston or Phoenix.
And then there's the rental car for flyers.

The point I'm trying to make is that the paintball is less expensive. You don't need to fly to the events. And the events take less time.
It's not hard to spend 800-1000 on a d3 psp event.
400 paint entry
300 plane
80 rental car, if you split
125 hotel, if you spit
50-100 food (@10 per meal)
D1 is even more when considering the extra days for practices.

Here you'd be spending the same cash on the whole season to play more splats, against d2-d1 quality teams.

I fail to see how this is expensive when considering the alternatives.

And its not like travel out of the country to canada is hard now with the enhanced licenses! thanks for the heads up, maybe i can get a line to play next season. Do they try to avoid events same time as psp?

Dan, I do not dispute your numbers as they are spot on. The only factor is if guys will ADD this series on top of their psp year or in place of. It makes great sense if they replace psp with this. We have talked about the cost of the psp before and what a shoddy deal it is for the costs. CXBL and Msxl for great ball and keeping costs as low as possible.

You can add it, and still not incur muc, if any, of a cost increase.

There are 5 psp's
If you play 4 psp's and give up Phoenix or Texas. And put the money that you would have spent there into this. You can even play a whole season in the mxl, where paints is 80 a case, for less than or equal to a long travel psp. Player card is 300 ish then paint is 800 for the year. Psp only take 4 events into season standings anyway.

You can give up ONE far psp, and take on 3 (4 if you make NAX), and spend the same ballpark amount of cash.
5 psp. Vs 4 psp+3 mxl or cxbl. That two more tournaments against better or equivalent teams.

Same. Exchange rate right now is 1.02. So it's actually like 10,200.
