mircoline, asa,regs

well i just got in my dm6

it aired up but i noticed it was leaking bad from the reg

so first question
1. what is a good/cheap reg to buy?

second question
2. good/cheap on/off asa?

third question
3. once i get my new reg in how do i go about installing the microline into the fittings?

EDIT!
also, the push buttons to start it up and change modes are messed up, is there anything i can do about this?

1) Dye Hyper 3, SL3, CP, Bob Long, etc.

2) CP On/Off ASA

3) Just push the macroline into the fittings and it will be in there until you decide to take it out. To take it out, you hold down on the collar on the fitting and pull the macroline out.

Or just buy some orings for your Reg, and replace them.... costs like 25 cents instead of buying a new reg....

Lube goes a long way too

like the guy above me stated just because its leaking doesnt mean you need a new reg. Most of the time a leak is caused by a damaged o-ring, and orings are very cheap compared to buying a new reg

Depends on the reg, but if it's the stock one just read the owner manual for the marker and it will go over how.

That's probably why it's leaking. You need to maintain those things, man!.

Hyper2's are a bit of a pain to get off. You should probably get a strap wrench and a vice along with some electrical or some other thick tape.

There's more on the how-to in the DYE section.

edit: so you have a Hyper2? Look into a Bob Long 360 HPR. They're phenomenally cheap and just as consistent as... well... everything else.

Give or take the SST Sidewinder. That thing has an incredible recharge rate.... and the Evolve Pi... Which is the most consistent in the paintball world.

well i broke down the reg, all the way to the shims, and they all fell out, but i got them back in right, but all my orings looked okay, it sounded as if it was leaking from the swivel part on the reg

could it be a possiblity that the reg just wasnt screw together tight enough??

Just cause orings look alright don't mean they are, replace them anyway.

No, you shouldn't need anymore than a hand tightening, don't try to force it, you'll just strip the threads

Also, why do you need to replace the reg? That is a great reg and a new reg is at least a case of paint, which IMO is a much better investment.

Lastly, macroline fittings work a lot like those chinese finger traps. To remove it, you need to push the macroline in, then grab and hold back that little ring at the end of the fitting, then pull the macroline out.

this

Those Orings are being pressurized at up to 850psi, even the smallest tear that is close to microscopic can let air through.

You'll find scuba tanks to be an excellent investment if you have some cash lying around.

I'm in the same boat as ya.

Try the Oring rebuild. If you can, spend the extra couple bucks getting a Viton/HNBR kit so then you'll never have to replace them again.

Then just lube them with a non-dow55, non-petroleum, and non-heavy duty lubricant.

I guess RV race bearing grease is too dense

Slick IS what comes with dye markers. Its decent lube, I find that it gets runny and gets thicker in cold weather. If you have $$$ buy monkey poo from oringmonkey.com where you can also find the hyper 2 rebuild kit
