Those with Barrel kits

What barrel kit do you use, hows it work, etc?

Hammerhead, Freak, iFit, Flasc, the list goes on.

I'm interested in what people think too help me get the ball rolling on my own decisions. I've been checking out Techt's ifit, and the flasc kit. Not sure which though. I'd rather have flasc over the convenience of it, especially since i use an apex and i can just screw the apex on and off with ease, and change the bore size with ease, but it offers few bore sizes.

iFit on the other hand offers many bore sizes, but can be a pain to change them out with shrouds, but also lets you just buy other barrels and bore size them all.

So just interested in some personal use pros/cons of some various kits.

Thanks.

I have the TechT 9 Piece iFit kit, however have been unable to use it for any length of time as the front bolt constantly jams inside the sleeve. I'm using a Model 98, and part of the problem could be due to modifications I have made to it, but so far I haven't gotten the iFit to work reliably without jamming the marker.

We use Hammerhead kits, mostly the ones sold by Tippmann and love them. So do our customers. we do PBN discounts... just ask...

I've used a HH kit and my freak.
The Hammer Head is by far the best.

I'm surprised how many use the hammerhead especially when you factor in it's cost. Normally I see people stray from rifled barrels in general also.

The Outdoorsmen use the TechT IFIT kit. We have them for all of our Tippmann guns and they work great. We have not run into any problem. Pick up the 9 piece and tell them that the Outdoorsmen sent you and you may get a discount. Trust me they work great!!!

I use the Freak kit for every single one of my markers. 6" of a perfect paint-to-barrel match is much better compared to 1" or 2" that these other kit offers.

Yet, I still see people go nuts over the other stuff... and I never understood why. But then again, I never know why people do a lot of things... like shop at wal-mart.

The one to two inch is better because you can still use your barrels and it won't be 20' long then. When you get past 14-16 you are just wasting so much air to get the ball out of the barrel. I do have people who have had the freak and they said it was good but when they tried the IFIT they loved it too.

I see what you're saying.. but the thing is, if the barrel doesn't match well with the paint, what's the point of using it anyway?

That's why I can never justify buying a 1-piece barrel.

I see your point Chester, however I still believe that the IFIT is a great barrel kit and will tell people about them. This is paintball one person likes one thing and another likes something else. that is why there are so many companies out there.

The old school Powerlyte Scepters are pretty damn good. The newer styles still perfrom well even with the shorted control bore. ecause of the way the control bore is tightened into the back, it makes for a very stable platform.

Check out Mann's barrel guide for better info.

I have freak inserts in my bt sa17 and have hammerhead kit for the phenom. I still like the apex on my Mkv. Have not broke any with the freak yet. The more expensive paint seems to break more in the hammerhead due to the riffling.

Superfreak fan here. Because if the barrel-to-paint match is what's important, might as well have it in the longest possible piece of barrel.
