Yeah man the gold coast is sick from what I have herd. I am trying to get there at the end of my semester. The weather up there is like socal during the winter time, always sunny and warm while the summers are really humid and rainy. But the city life is supposed to be sick over in surfers paradise. Plus the beaches on the gold coast are some of the best in the world if you are keen to surf. I am down in Melbourne, Victoroia so the bottom of Australia and since the seasons are switched here I have been in winter this whole time but luckly the weather is starting to pick up. Melbourne is sick though, really awesome downtown scene with a ton of unique bars and places to go. The city has a vibe kind of like Chicago but with a beach close by. All in all AUS is awesome just stupid expensive. Plan on trying to get a job right away, and AUS is one of the few student visas you can get a job with.

Ahh man sounds soo sick. I have quite a bit of cash saved up and luckily my parents have been gracious enough to take care of all my schooling expenses. I have heard Gold Coast is a pretty party heavy part, which is fine by me for sure. I just love the ocean, and I wouldn't mind giving surfing a shot for sure.
ya id still say try and find a job right away though even if its just a few hours a week just to cover alcohol expenses. casually 35$ for a fifth of crappy vodka here is standard. Beer is like 50 plus for 24 back of bottles but theres always boxed wine for 10$ which is really popular here because its the cheapest aka "goon". Plus standard pay out here if you are over 18 is like 20$ an hour for a crap job like mcdonalds or safeway.
