Help, New HPA tank shoots slow

So I'm currently using a Tippmann A5, and I just got in the mail my Ninja pro 45/6800 tank. Got it filled up and put it on. When I shoot it though it shoots so slow and dives down after no more than 50 feet. Why is this happening?

That happen to me this past Sunday with my SLS. It was because I had bad o-rings and it cause it to leak. So I replace it and it was working fine. Did you check for leaks or bad o-rings?

do explain...is it that the tank is dropping off the output? or is another problem like the reg is bad or the reg spring is messed up?

sounds like you got a low or mid pressure output reg on your tank.

Most markers, and definitely an A5, run high pressure ~800+psi. You may be "starving" your marker. You can add shims to the reg to make it high pressure if that's the case. If anything, I'll buy the tank off of you if it's slp.

1. make sure your checking your fps over a chronograph. the velocity adjustment screw might just need a little adjusting. the co2 youve been running might have been at a higher pressure due to the summer heat as it isnt regulated like HPA is. this is why hpa is more consistant, its pressure doesnt fluctuate according to the outside temperature.

2. make sure your using a high pressure output tank. (800ish psi). tippmanns were designed with the higher pressures of co2 in mind, so if your using a low pressure output tank, you could be starving the gun for air.

This happened to me on my 98 Custom. Buy a HP Reg ( I HAVE ONE FOR SALE IF INTERESTED) Or buy a Ninja adjustable reg so you can use it for future markers.

if you are going from co2 to hpa it is possible for it to drop co2 has a higher output pressure i would put it over a chrono and adjust the velocity

correct me if i'm wrong, but OP said it was a pro tank, meaning its adjustable. even if it's not, adding shims (total 3, excluding the end o-rings) to a regular ninja reg will do the trick. its an easy fix, just make sure the tank is depressurized before separating the reg from the bonnet.

and Rebel_816, I love you're avatar, but you're use of "your" vs "you're" makes me want to kill kittens

sounds like you just need to turn up your velocity. Just turn the screw outwards to do this.

First off, make sure the tank is screwed all the way in. You may need to lube the threads a little.

Second, make sure your tank is High Pressure. (mid/low pressures will work with every marker except the old mechanical markers like tippmanns/BTs, spyders, and automags)

It is not very nice to correct grammar when you yourself are wrong.

Just note to OP (Original Poster, you), when people say "get a high pressure output reg", they imply that you should turn the output pressure on your reg up.

Sounds like it was preset to low pressure. To up the pressure it outputs (to something around mid-pressure, or 600psi), throw in one of the thicker shims provided.

Also, since you made the switch from CO2 to HPA (guessing), you may want to re-adjust your velocity and probably relube your Orings.
