2k1 LCD Back from the dead!
Hey guys,
I recently pulled my 2k1 LCD out of the closet because some friends were talking all about playing some PB recently. Its been sitting untouched for 8-9 years. As expected it didn't turn on, the battery in it was toast. I did the CR123 mod here: http://www.angelowners.com/showthrea...able-batteries and low and behold it turned right on to the Safe screen. The board looks like its been completely reset, the serial is reset to 000 000 and the cycles counter reset as well. All the other modes are also locked with only semi left.
This weekend I took it to the field for some testing. A few drops of oil in it and to my surprise is worked! A little adjustment to the velocity and I put a round of paint through it. It never skipped a beat, started slow at first then started firing them about 14 bps to finish the hopper off. Didn't chop a ball even. I then preceded to play some speedball with it and my oldschool gear which includes a JT Flex mask and a 12V Revy with X-Board and speed collar (Who even remembers what an X-Board is?).
Anyways, now that I have this thing and it works I've been looking at what mods I should do to it. I would love a newer board but I feel like its blasphemy to sack a working LCD board. I have access to mills, lathes, and I can do most any electronics works. What would you guys do?
Here she is in all her ancient glory.

Still got my Revvy. It was a backup to my Halos when I quit.
Now Halos are barely a backup to the new loaders the kids godt.
Christ I'm old.

Not sure I follow?
To stay on topic in the APS board, I still make "DOO DOO BROWN" (Rocky Cagnoni [sp?]) jokes even though nobody knows wtf I'm talking about.

The JAM bolt seems like a good idea. From the looking I've done so far it seems like the ACE upgrade would be pretty sweet too. Anybody have a link on whats involved with that? I haven't been able to find much more then people selling them.
Unless I'm mistaken doesn't the stock board have a plug for eyes?
As far as money goes I'm not looking to dump tons into this gun, just have some fun and tinker with it. That's not really an answer, I know.

You can drop in a virtue PMR board with little modification to your frame. I believe there is a thread with pics on how to do it if you search for it. That will give you all the modern modes and will accept eyes if you want to go that far. A lot of people have done this mod. I personally run my lcd stock and don't have any problems but if you primairly play speedball you might want to either upgrae the board or get a diffrent gun and use the lcd as a backup or when some 12 punk with an ego talks s*** about how old guns suck you can use it to shoot him in the face (my personal favorite past time).

The stock board does not have a plug for eyes. I believe it does have a plug for hopper activation (Intellifeed). If you have no need for newer bps rulesets, I'd stick with the stock board and find means to replace the battery.

Cereal Killers is still my favorite dvd. Although my disc has gone missing. The case is on my movie shelf, but alas it is empty... very sad...
Come to think of it I can't find Heroes for a Day either. I wonder if maybe I sold it... That would be dumb of me!

Ah yeah, I forgot all about Intellifeed, that's what I was thinking of. I guess I will keep an eye out for a JAM bolt for now and think about a board mod if mine dies.

I'd keep it OG
When I was still playing tourney ball I had a 2K1 LCD I would bust out at practices. Bone stock, performed it's duties just fine. I never used it at an event, instead using something w/ eyes for reliability. I loved that LCD though
