I would advise you to buy the 2.0 core, it is very worth it and will save you all I the headaches. I you do not have the cash, what are your board settings, what type of lube, and what is the weather?

2.0 core is the way to go and reasonably priced at $100 new. I love the way they work and the settings I can run with mine...but more than anything I love how reliable they are!

I have had great results with my 2.0 cores, they are a complete night and day difference compared to the previous cores

Posted up in the voided warranty section about how to get the duracoat off my Imp. Here's an example of some of the responses (I made the meme, but it's a direct quote):
This is why I hate most people. But some of the guys in there have been pretty helpful.

If you have a 1.0 core then yes the 2.0 core is a great investment, and fairly cheap.
If you have extra cash though a Pooty core is also a great one, but can be a bit harder to maintain (oring fitment etc) but it works great and is with the FF bolt extremely gentle on paint
But then again, it costs twice as much, so that is certainly something to consider.

Do you have problems with your luxe breaking paint? I've never broke paint in any of the luxes I've owned.

I did, I just couldn't find anything that wasn't a flame war in some AR15 forum.
I was thinking about replacing my 2.0 core with a Pooty one, also was going to pick up an EF rod for my stock core.

Temperature changes the exact fitment of orings, making leaks more common. In colder weather, your lube will thicken, causing more bolt stick or FSDO

I would stay away from the EF rod, it has never worked great in any of my luxes.
It adds kick and the luxe gets louder

That sucks. I've never used anything except stock or sprung stock cores With the exception of a nix bolt and that was terrible.

Good to know. I would've been highly pissed paying $25 (or however much it is) for a minimal increase in efficiency and a drop in what I love about having a luxe.
