Conceptually pretty cool, I will certainly be interested in test piloting one. Wish the mag held more rounds though.

I like the mil-sim look of it, I would like to take it out and give it a try. I would like to see what the price is on them, and how much extra mags might cost.

Especially since the magazines will hold just one ball less than a 10-round tube.
Seeing as how this is how most users will probably reload the things, it seems like such an annoying inconvenience.

Or another way, the mags amount to oversized, undercapacity tubes

Since paintballs are so fat, mags get long and ungainly as capacity increases. So it makes somesense. Discounting box or drum mags.

I really like the idea of clip fed stock class. And I'd like to dabble with FS rounds. My only concern is the bore of the barrel. First Strike rounds are what, .688? If the barrel is big bore and uses a proprietary breach threading (like the Spyder flex feed gun on sale now) rollouts will render this gun unusable to me.

Well a spring fed magazine need not be much wider than the paintballs themselves, see: ariakon mags.

Pity then that it won't use the D.A.M.'s 20-round reversible magazine system.
These contain two springloaded stacks of 10 balls or FS rounds, one on each end, so you flip to reverse it.
They don't look much larger than these new MR-5 magazines.

Got to actually hold it today at the spider both, was vary nice felling , little heavier from the hole mag mil-sim aspect,

They said that it should be on the market with in a couple of months, they where field testing it today at Decay of Nations.

The mag goes in and out of the gun vary easily and they said that spare mags where available to purchase as well.

They didn't give me a price, but asked me what I thought a good price would be I told them "free" but everybody else should pay about 139, they didn't think that was too low, so maybe even lower then that.

How close to the kingman hammer of years ago will this be? It appears to be nelson valve, like the origonal hammer, and with the tracer remake, maybe this is becomming a trend? Being a spyder and all, Ill still be hesitant to buy one.

The fact that it feeds from the bottom pretty much rules out anything but a Nelson platform. Other than the fact that this obviously has a complex combination gripframe/magwell unit, and probably a combined breech/barrel system to handle the DLS I would be kind of shocked if it did anything particularly unusual from the bolt back. This gun will almost certainly be bore-drop, like the Hammers before it, because of that rotating breech/barrel design. I wonder if the barrel will be compatible with the MR-5...

Of course, the Hammer was notable for having a brass bolt and hammer, atypical for a Nelson. It's rare for companies to use brass internals these days, but it is a hammer trademark. Might account for some of that weight Bartman was noticing, too.

Does anyone know if there is a 12g in the mag in addition to the ASA on the back?

Almost certainly not.
I don't know for sure that there isn't, but why would there be?

Judging by the position of the ball stack in the mag, you can tell there for sure isn't.

I like the overall shotgun style look, but im not big on the mag feed part. I wonder if you can run it with the hopper, but without the mag in it?

They advertise a center feed so I believe so

To answer some of your questions , I had a chance to look at it closer this weekend,

Yes all the guns come with the CF option and have the parts with the kit.

No the mags don't have CO2 in them, there are 3 mag options 9 rd FC compatible straight mag, 10 68 cal curved mag and a 15 rd 68cal curved mag.

For the most part the pump felt great, with the exception of being a little heavy, I believe that there is some sort of trap door the pump moves to allow 1 ball in the breach at a time.

The one thing i didn't like(but I didn't play with the gun), was the pump handle, it seems to me it needed some sort of picaney rail on it for accessories.

Just a little more of what I seen looking at it again today.
