Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm looking for a Deadly Wind 12" to 14" barrel. I put in a WTB in and will see what I can find for $50 or less. I have the freak back already with AC threads.

I'm trying the Halo V35 hopper but I'm also looking to try a Dye hopper for $80 or less. Also have that WTB in for that so PM me if you know where I can get one. I like the look of the v-max and haven't had to many issues with it. The Tamaco Arc hopper that's gravity fed couldn't keep up. I still have to try the Primo gravity fed hopper with it.

Please don't post in the thread your offers. I'm going to update my marker and use this page as a testament to it's development.

So I've gone ultra light and have the new setup I'll play next weekend...

Mini
45/4500 carbon fiber tank
Deadly wind 14"barrel using aluminum freak inserts
Dye V3 rotor

I'm thinking that this is the lightest setup, allowing me to snap shoot one handed.

I also have an aluminum tank to help back weight the marker to help angle out for longer shots. However the weight is twice that of the carbon fiber tank. The Primo Proto gravity feed is my backup but drops bps under 8.

Pics to come.

Nice to see your mini come together and the halo is your back up hopper.

Today I changed to a longer spring with my Lurker bolt. I increased my trugger walk from 12 bps to 15 bps according to pocket chrono/speed meter at Urban Assult this Saturday. I noticed after 5 shots the speed got faster than any other time I shot. I got bunkered down in speedball but got a 3 to 1 ratio for kills. In woodsball it dropped to 2 to1 but twice I was out first.

Setup was as follows...
- Mini V3 with Shockwave set at semi at 250 FPS
- 14" freak
- Dye V3 hopper
- 45/4500 crossfire

The mini is really a mini machine gun. With the right hopper, its a 200 balls per minute bunker machine gun. It's capable of taking 40 to 60 feet accurate shots by 3 to 5 volume shots on a target with most barrels at feeds of 12-15 bps.

I play in the thicket in woodsball and back or front support in speedball effectively and enjoy the setup. It can be played in damp, moist, or wet conditions, but not in water. The shockwave is easy to program from semi, PSP, to full auto with a pull and hold of a trigger.

If you are looking for a mini, IMO, get a V3 mini with shockwave. Players 10 to 17 really get a small marker with the best power for the money. Most are uner $200 used. A rake or upgraded trigger with a spring helps more than anything. It competes at any stage of the game against any marker. A mini is a golden gun.

It's modable, the lightest option out in a small frame, and has unlimited potental. I call it a poor man's axe but is a true machine gun. I can't say I was ever out other than my own mistake in the game, no air, no ammo, mask fog being my reason I'm out most often.

I rate the mini 4 out of 5 and the best value for an mid-entry level electronic marker. Spend the money and get a V3 or a V2/1 with a Shockwave board supported by a 20 bps hopper and you can play with the boys all day long.

You need to adjust the reg to get 280 fps for a better shot.

Sorry to break the news to you, but the chrono was wrong. The Shockwave board is capped @ 15 bps in all modes, including semi.

I have a 14" in Deadly Wind Fibur coming that I'm going to try as my main barrel.

I'm getting a better mask so fog isn't a reason I can't shoot well.

Really, cause the manual states you can change the max to 20 bps in the settings....

Here is my current setup. With all of this, I'm thinking about selling my backup Spyder as I think I have everything to repair and maintain my current marker with backups and parts.

Invert Mini V3 with...
- Luker Bolt
- Shockwave board
- Rake Trigger
- 10x rebuild o-ring kit
- Parts kit

Hoppers...
- Dye V3 primary hopper
- Primo Proto gravity fed backup

Tanks...
- Crossfire 45/4500 carbon fiber primary tank
- Empire 45/3000 aluminum backup tank

Barrels...
- Deadly Wind Fibre with full Freak kit
- Stock barrel

I'm getting a better mask, but my marker setup is set. I might get a tatical vest to hold more than 4 pods and maybe have a way to carry a backup tank.

Yes Really. If you don't believe me, program your bps for 20bps and then count back the number of blinks the board registers

I got my information here... http://www.paintballsolutions.com/05..._Shockwave.pdf for the mini manual with the Shockwave.

Quote:

MAX RATE OF FIRE (ROF)
-WILL BE INDICATED BY SOLID GREEN LED
This setting controls the maximum number of paintball per second the marker is allowed to fire. The setting can be varied from 8 to 20 balls per second (bps) in 0.5bps intervals. Use the chart below to set the Max ROF.
Default: Max ROF = 15.0 bps

You must be in the Settings Mode to change the Max ROF, see above for
instructions on how to enter Settings Mode. After choosing Max ROF Mode
(Solid Green), hold the Trigger to get into the Mode, the LED will flash Red
LED blinks equal to the current setting, followed by a pause. Pull the trigger
the number of times equal to your new desired setting (see chart below).
Once done, the LED will cycle through an array of colors to indicate the
setting is saved and return to the Settings Mode.

Example: 10 LED blinks = 12.5 BPS

# of Blinks BPS value # of Blinks BPS value # of Blinks BPS value
1 8.0 10 12.5 18 16.5
2 8.5 11 13.0 19 17.0
3 9.0 12 13.5 20 17.5
4 9.5 13 14.0 21 18.0
5 10.0 14 14.5 22 18.5
6 10.5 15 15.0 23 19.0
7 11.0 16 15.5 24 19.5
8 11.5 17 16.0 25 20.0
9 12.0
So I'm going to say that if you count the number of blinks, it does not directly mean the number of balls per second. 10 blinks is 12.5 bps so that proves your count the blinks theory incorrect.

Sorry to break the news to you, but the manual also states the following spec...

Quote:
EMPIRE MINI SPECIFICATIONS
Model- Empire Mini
Barrel- 12" Ported
Caliber- .68
Action- Semi Auto, PSP Ramping, and NXL Full Auto

Doesn't matter, we had this conversation about a month ago and the Empire Tech here even confirmed it. The manual is wrong, if you don't believe me program your board for 20 bps and count the number of blinks when it repeats them, you'll see for yourself that it only flashes 15 times instead of the 25 times it's supposed to.

Wow, good to know and thank you. I never play above 15 bps and have mine programed there. Wonder why they didn't fix the on-line manual...could see why not on the printed.

Actually fella's, I am mistaken. I went back a few pages and found it. The board is capped @ 15bps in all modes except for NPPL/Semi. You can program it to 20 bps in Semi.

For the money, not to many combinations can get 20 bps at a pricetag of the mini. Solid products and preformance come out of Empire markers. I like the price points as well.

New topic..

Anyone use a strap on the mini to hold it on your body so your hands free?

I'm not talking about a dog strap, but more of a over the shoulder strap not worn for combat but more for ease.

I'm wondering if this is something that can be an easy on/off part to the mini?

I tried one I ordered from paintballslings.com that slipped over your bottle, but I didn't like it. It felt like the strap was going to give at any given time and my Axe would be laying on the ground.

So I've sold some things and have money to mod my mini. I've put the list down to the following...

1) On/Off ASA (black or olive green)
2) Nummech extender
3) Regulator on the end of the Crossfire tank (mine is chipped but doesn't leak if turned 95% in instead of 100% in.

Or if you have another idea, I'm always open to suggestions.

Beautiful set up... no other upgrades though? You should look into getting a snatch grip, they really do wonders. No more bruises on your hand anymore too!
