Anyone else ever get sick of 2 up riding? I decided the other day I much prefer going solo.

Two up almost always sucks. There is only one girl I enjoyed riding with, just cause she was so small and actually knew how to ride on the back of a bike

2-up is so much better with my buell than a supersport. Upright seating makes a huge difference...and torque.

Figures...not even a week of having my back back I have my first accident. Rear ended a Harley...need a whole new front fairing and headlight assembly so far.
Five miles per hour does all this damage. So stupid.

I think an R6 or SV650 rear shock will fit your bike. But yeah I don't like riding with a passenger. It's fun in the sense that it's slower and it's more about the destination, but it sucks not going fast.

I have a stock sv shock laying around here somewhere.
Don't know why you would want to use it though, it's pretty terrible. haha

Anything is better than the stock 250 shock.
The sv650 shock needs some work to fit. Never heard of an R6 shock being used. ex500 and zx600 shocks are most common. I have a zx600 shock on mine, and i have an 08 ex250 shock laying around that ive never installed.
Might be for sale soon, since the bike is gonna get sold.

Rode to Walmart in 35 degree coldness to get a $9 gun cleaning kit. I question my priorities sometimes.

Wouldn't a rear shock out of a much heavier and faster bike than mine make it feel really funky? Stiff suspension is something I don't mind as long as it works well and correctly. More ground clearance and a higher tail would be nice too. I've already got my eye on those links that raise the rear about an inch. Would those work with a non 250 shock?

Not necessarily...try to figure out what spring rate different shocks are and find what weights are working well for people at your weight. It's not an exact science with these bikes because the options are limited. That's why I said pretty much anything is better. Changing the ride height could because it's easy to overdo it. An inch is a big difference. I put a gsx-r shock on my bandit and I'm considering lowering it slightly now. It raised the rear end a good inch and a half probably (wish I had taken some measurements).
The zx600 shock in my ninja is actually shorter than the stock 250 shock, but only slightly. However, it sags less, so the rear end actually has more ride height when you are on it. I still kinda want to try out the ex250J shock, but i don't feel like doing the work
I don't know anything about the links you speak of. There's no reason for it IMO, because the stock bike handles really well.

And you honestly think I should spend 250 on gloves? If it really is worth it I have no problem, But I dont want to spend that much just to get something I could've gotten a lot cheaper. I like the handroids a lot from what I've seen and read, is there a color in particular I should stay away from? I would get red, bad idea?
