The likelihood of anything similar happening again is almost 0%. If you wanted a gun before it happened, get a gun. If the only reasoning you have now to get a firearm is this particular shooting, think about it a bit more.
Just doesn't make sense to me to only buy a gun now after this happened.

Have you guys heard of "knockout kings" game, where thugglets go around blasting unsuspecting people in the face with the goal of knocking them out with one punch?
All when you don't expect it?
This is being done all over the country and from what I have read it originated in Chicago... You know the "non gun" zone, where you can't protect yourself from thugs.
Many people have been killed from this activity, but the media doesn't think it is worthy of national news coverage.

I think it's stupid that it takes a shooting for people to wake up and realize that is when they finally need or want protection. Just my 2 cents.

Could be. But who knows what President Obama will do. He certainly didn't close Guantanamo Bay while the Democrats controlled Congress though, with the Republicans having no legal means of stopping him, (even you admit that the Democrats dropped the ball there) so it's hard to predict what Obama will and will not actually do.
He likely will not try to pass any gun laws before the election. He is vulnerable right now. Gun makers have to love the increase in sales.

well if they pass a law requiring a form 1 for the damn thing then it was worth it because mine is now grandfathered in and i don't have to pay for a 200 dollar stamp

yep...pre-ban mags in states with laws have doubled in value....that's better than the stock market these days
