Would I be crippled by using a 72/3000?

Hey guys,

I'm planning on going to the West Point Combat Classic, and I need to buy myself a new airtank (I've been renting). I'm pretty tight on cash right now, and the cost for a 4500psi tank could really make it difficult to afford paint and the admission fees at the game. One of my friends offered to sell me his old 42/3000 and 72/3000 for a good price, and I'm thinking of taking him up on his offer.

I've played smaller scenarios where an air refill is at most a 10 minute walk, but I'm not sure how accessible air is going to be at the Combat Classic. If I went with a 72/3000, would I end up having to run off the field after every other skirmish to refill, or will it perform decently? Nothing is more annoying than running short on air in the middle of a fight.

Also, I usually run a remote line so carrying something large like a 72/3000 isn't a huge deal. I'm also toying with the idea of getting both tanks; keeping the 48 on my marker and then tossing the 72 in the pouch on my vest that I usually run a remote to, then just swapping them out mid-battle if I run out of air. Anyone ever try this?

Not sure about the brands/regs, but they're in good condition. He's asking $40 for the 72 and $20 for the 48.

What gun are you shooting too? Is it a gas hog like an A5 or some thing efficient?

I dont think you'll be crippled running the 72. I assume those Eclipse markers are pretty efficient. You figure it like this, go out, take eight pods. If you cant get all eight shot, then its a bit less weight you can leave off after your refill.

Honestly, bound to be one friend of yours not playing that weekend. Borrow their 4500 and save your money. Then get your new tank when your not as strapped.

An etha on a 72/3000 is gonna get about 4-5 pods or so, judging from what I've read.

Make sure its in hydro, otherwise $40 is a decent price. Really, you'd be best off ponying up for a 4500 tank or borrowing a friends and buying when u can.

As for buying both, you can get a used 4500 tank for around 80-90. You'd be best off going that route, because you'll do that in the future anyways.

you should buy a good used carbon fiber tank here on pbnation. I got a pure energy 45/4500 with a 5 year hydro for only 76$ in the B/S/T section. It was a great deal. I don't know if you will find a deal that good, but you should be able to get a good tank for around 80-90 bucks.
