Replaced filter and oil. Used rotella t6 5w40. Was going to pull out the oil pan but it would have taken forever just to see if there was metal in there. I left the skid plate off just in case so I can monitor for leaks. No obvious signs on the plate. Ran a magnet through some of the oil and got a few tiny (smaller than pencil tip) pieces of.metallic particles. However, they broke apart and were not shiny or anything. I think since it got so dry and hot those were the deposits that formed in there. Idk about it... the sound is there but not prominent. Its a distinct clacking sound mixed with a whine. Its weird...
Going to monitor and ***** in a week or so. Maybe I'll pull the pan on Monday...

This is EXACTLY what it sounds like but less intense, more subtle, and not consistent. It fluctuates between rpms under moderate throttle (not present or.noticeable under low or high RPMs) and sounded just as bad almost when I had no oil in it...

If it is this... what should be my main concern and what am I looking at cost wise to fix the issue? Of course if its labor intensive I'll want to.do other stuff while I'm in there...

Bah. Guy with the V1 messaged back first saying he would do 160 out the door with everything needed. So tough.
Do I wait and see if the V2 messages back or jump on it? Most of the 05 V1s I've seen were like $300 alone.

Damn dude, that doesn't sound good at all. Although this doesn't sounds as bad as some I've seen, it doesn't sound good though. 
Like I said Rallispec has short blocks ready to drop in. I was off on the price by 1k.  http://www.rallispec.com/prod_block.htm $3500 then figure another 1k for labor. Or bring it down to Scott to knock it out for a hand job.
