That doesn't sound like Josh, he had all the info I needed when I was looking into blocks.

I think what I'm reading is 400 more for someone who knows what the **** they're doing, is reliable, is coming across as such and, if they **** up, it's on them?

That's worth more than a grand, I'd suck up the 400 and go with that guy.

Except the fact that Josh is reliable. Check the Nasioc review thread.

Thinking about asking TiC if they will let me unpaid intern/shop ***** there. Only 20 minutes away and that would look good on job applications.

Think that they would be cool with that, anyone who personally knows the people at Tic?

I know Micah, who races with them/build their motors (and who is doing my build). I'm friends with Clint on FB...but that's about the extent of that. lol

I am leaning toward this.

Someone posted what I am getting at is the other person knows what they're doing. YES I completely agree. It is a competence issue. I have everything in front of me at Akuma... it seems like Josh is hiding or doesnt know the details.

My dad gave me sound advice: if you're going to do something; do it right the first time. You dont want to dick around with people who are there to take your money and make a profit. At the end of the day; would you rather pay for something right the first time even though its a little more expensive than to pay for something slightly cheaper but have to continually hassle with people to get it to the final product?

Lets face it; you cannot put a price on loyalty and a business that will stand behind its services. IIR offers products but once those products are installed whos to say "the tuner didnt do it right" or such similar statements if something were to go wrong with the part...

If I go through John and Akuma then he hand inspects every detail and builds it himself. He said he will NOT open up the IIR block because if there is something wrong; he knows josh will blame it on him. He also said there could very likely be NOTHING wrong with his block and it could save me a decent chunk of change.

However, it is this chunk of change I am relying on to be done correctly ONCE. Or if it has to be redone that it is done so taking my loss into consideration. I do NOT see this happening with IIR.

So with that said; I am 99.5% likely to go through John. I also have a possible buyer for my old block and also have a buyer lined up to buy my VF, walbro, and DW injectors because john says the DWs are prone to tuning inconsistency getting 900cc FICs instead

As far as I know, my DW has been pretty consistent.

What I think I'm going to do it pick up a truck here very soon so I have a DD and something for winter. Going to sell my winter wheels and tires and just park my car for a few months. Going to wait for the pistons and rods to show up. Pull my motor myself, and slowly build a long block over winter, so the car will be down for 5-6 months from now. Once the long block is done, drop it in, then figure out what is needed to be able to flip the manifold and get some pipes welded up, since I'll have a truck I will be able to tow it to a shop.

Matt: its his preference and from his experience he has seen more DW side feed failures, more DW top feed inconsistencies tuning, and just doesn't like them. He said when they work they work great. He said the side feeds he.would avoid.like the plague.

Ah ****, I misread that. I thought you were referring to the fuel pump. I don't have DW injectors.
