BTW, I know a lot of people who sell real estate and work a second job to pay their bills. I know one or two that are really making a ton of money at it, too, but the vast majority aren't. Expensive game to get into, too. I looked at it a number of times over the years, but couldn't justify the $2000 startup costs, plus living expenses, gas, and ongoing monthly expenses with advertising, doing showings, blah blah blah to maybe get paid six months down the road. If you've got money to start with, it's doable, otherwise it's an expensive hobby that may or may not turn into a profession. That 6% or 7% a realtor draws doesn't all go into their pocket, although I know they all wish it did.

I miss the days when stock cars actually looked like the street cars they're modelled after. I've often said that if NASCAR wants to fix some of their problems, they need more short tracks, FAR fewer cookie-cutter mile-and-a-half ovals, a road course in the Chase, and to make the cars match the same template the street cars do.
