Barrel Bore???
Hey guys lets start off by sayin that i cant afford a barrel kit at this time...... So saying that, i can afford a cp barrel, i obviously play pump and was wondering if i could get away with a .685 barrel for playing all day, i know the paint can alter through the day hough. But i live in southern california so and was wondering if the .685 barrel can serve me all day with my weather conditions??? I buy generic .689 paint as well , but i have roll outs with my .689 barrel.......plz help i plan on gettin a barrel soon!

if the paint you used are .689 then .685 would work.

As someone who plays pump in socal I will tell you that a .685 isn't going to be small enough. You might get lucky and find one brand of paint big enough for that but it seems like all the stuff I shoot is tiny. If CP makes a .682 or .679 1 piece you'd be better off with that.
Or look at the .678 Lurker Eigenbarrel.

I was having rollouts with my .684 yesterday. Good paint seems to be smaller than the "field" grade. I'm going to order the next two sizes down.

Go with a larger bore, and use nail polish to make wedgits to keep the ball from rolling out.
This thread already goes into the details of applying them.
http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3118863
The best solution would be to have somone professionally install them, but this is the economic solution. Good large bore paint, marbs and valken stuff.

Keep the pump hand strong

He obvously wants a new barrel, so pointing him to paint the inside of his current one may not be the answer.
The FAQ has tutorials on how to use small paint in an overbore barrel ("No Barrel Kit? Improvise!").
However, I second the Lurker and Tightstick barrels. DYE, Eclipse and others also have ~.680 bores for their kits.

Why go through the trouble when you could just buy a Lurker Eigenbarrel for $30?

I was implying that he could go with a larger bore install wegits and be able to shoot a larger varience of paint since hes unable to afford a barrel kit.
Why spend 30 to fix a problem when the solution could cost him nothing. Better to put that 30 towards a barrel kit. And "going through all that trouble" is quite litterally a 2 minute fix includinh the time it would take to go into his sisters or mothers bathroom for some nail polish.
His .689 with wedgits could keep paint from rolling out even around the .679 range.
I think my answer is totally relevant as the op was complaining about rollouts and the varience of paint sizes throughout the day. Even of he goes with just a tight bore barrel hes still going to experience the same varience problems just on a slightly smaler calibur.

I would like to see someone do a test with the nail polish wedgits to see if those put weird spin on the ball. It seems to me that if you don't line that up carefully you might be hurting yourself.

Having shot lots of guns with this mod ive never noticed any difference. Thats not to say an incorrect application couldnt fail, but I think its worth a shot, if you dont likr your dabbings just remove them with nail polish remover and try again.
I think the inconsiatancies in paint are a far more prevalent problem than any additional spin wedgits could induce.
Thats my 2 cents i'd say try it and if you dont like it just remove it. If hes limited on cash I think this is a good place to start.

Probably the best advice. Free to try and easy to remove if it doesn't work. Nothing to lose except rollouts.

Well nothing to lose, but you don't gain efficiency, which you do by boring down.
A single underbore barrel in conjunction with the stock barrel is a good solution for the OP.

There is another simple solution, if you're able to shoot he same brand of paint all the time, then just buy a barrel sized to that. Any decent paint will be the same size case to case
