Velocity problem Etek 3

My problem is that I cannot achieve 300fps unless my reg is set to approximately 390psi. The reg screw is almost all the way out. I have checked the reg on 2 different reg testers and they both are within a few psi of each other. The gun kicks horribly, is extremely loud, and CRUSHING paint.

Gun is completely stock except Cure 3 bolt. Shooting Ultra Evil w/ 684 and 678 Lurker Eigen barrels. 684 is a paint match and 678 is under bore.

I have tried the following:

- dwell of 8 to 11 ms
- lpr flush to 3 turns in
- multiple batteries
- cleaned and re-lubed the hpr and lpr
- tank is a 68/4500 w/ Ninja reg set to 450 psi

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Board is at stock settings. The only thing I have adjusted was the dwell which was from 8ms to 11ms.

Is there a particular oring on the rammer that would affect the velocity?

turn your HPR and your LPR back to stock settings. your lpr might be turned in too much.

Other than suggestions above, my own experience with my Etek 3 was that it didn't like my Ninja tank set to LP. I had to back the reg screw out similarly to try and get it to chrono at 280ish and it was inconsistent when I did. I have my tank set back to HP (and have used another tank, GA, set at MP) and have not had any issues since. Again, just my 2c on my experience.

Good luck.

I have set the dwell to 9 & 10 with the lpr 2 turns in and hpr 4 turns out and it was shooting in the low 200's. Same dwell/hpr with the lpr set to flush and no changes.

I will add shims back to my tank. Many people on this forum have had no problems running LP with their Eteks. If the gun runs between 250 and 280psi, then why would an input of 450ish cause problems? I had no shootdown when I did get the velocity up to 290 at almost 400psi. That's pretty close to my tank output. If it was an issue, it should have shown up then, right?

I am going to pick up another pack of batteries to see if maybe the pack I bought was bad.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.
