Exclamation Help!!! Cocking rod problem

Hey guys, I really need your help on this.

I have a 2k4 Prostock all stock internals(including cocking rod),
Silk III Nylatron bolt.
E-blade E1.

So I was planning on moving my cocking point back a little farther in the breech(my bolt wasn't clearing it) and I was having the hardest time in the world removing my cocking rod, I searched around the forums a bit and found the trick where you add a second bolt to the rod and use it to remove the rod itself. Did that. But as I was using a wrench to remove the cocking rod, It was VERY VERY tight, it was squeaking as I was removing it all up until the point where it came out completely. Needless to say I can't even put the cocking rod back in far enough with just my hands to get the gun to even cock, I have to use a wrench to get it far enough in to cock normally. I checked the threads on the rod and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them but this is just getting ridiculous seeing as I know for sure I will have to change my velocity next time I play which will leave me having to reset my cocking point again and I don't want to be sitting at the chrono with two wrenches two bolts all the while resetting the cocking point after I adjust the IVG a little. So if anyone can give me some sort of explanation as to why this might be happening, and a solution I would be forever grateful. I love cockers and I'd rather not have my love for them tested every time I have to change the velocity. Thanks everyone....

You need to pull your cocking rod, now. The threads are galling, and sound like they are extremely close to seizing.

You need to look at the threads on both the hammer and the cocking rod. See any oxidation? Debris? Clean it up, and lubricate it. Cleaning will clear the debris causing the galling, and lubricating the threads with a molybdenum based lubricant should prevent further galling.

I think Barrel roll meant to pull your hammer out now. Raise the Lug, remove the IVG and Spring and the hammer should fall right out.

Sounds like someone loctited the cocking rod into the hammer and the hammer threads are gunked with dried loctite.

What do you recommend cleaning the hammer with?

Yea, meant hammer. You can clean the rod's threads with a brass brush or the proper sized die. You can clean the hammer's threads with a pick, thread chaser, or something along those lines. A flushing with a penetrating oil, some time, and the cocking rod might even be able to clear it out... Depending on what is on the treads.

Okay so I pulled out the hammer, and it looks pretty bad inside, there is some stuff hanging out of the threads, not sure what it is doesn't look like blue loctite but hell maybe its been along time. I am still not sure what to use to clean it out, something like wd40? The threads on the rod are in perfect condition haha. Oh and I saw you have a wave trigger that will fit an e1 do you still have it?

Yea, still have it. Looks like I am going to be holding on to it though. Just picked up a Superstock that needs a little love.

Can you snap a photo? Is it metal or something else? Does it look cross threaded?

If it is just oxidization, or funk, WD40 would ok. Hit it with that, try to screw in the rod with your fingers, unscrew, clean, repeat and see if it goes deeper.

Hell yeah!!! Problem solved there was a bunch of black stuff stuck in there that came out with a little WD40 and I bent a very small nail and ran it threw the threads a little bit and am now able to move the rod in and out with my fingers. THANK YOU EVERYONE and especially you barrel roll. And in any case how much would you be willing to do for the trigger I really am not fond of my samurai trigger even though it's better than the stock one. How much does the delrin really help with bounce?

Im not sure it helps with bounce... it is just lighter. I got it because I like the wave triggers better.

This guy make them. He also makes other fun stuff.

Buy it from him, I'm only going to save you $7 plus I think I'm going to keep it.
