So I'm finally picking up a geo2, but it has slight breach wear. Just wondering if that will be a problem and if it will affect anything or if it's just normal in geo's. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Breach wear doesn't really effect much, aside from value to buyers in the BST. As long as it isn't actually digging away at the breach (and since you said slight it most likely isn't) you won't have any issues.

It will cause no issues, just a good sign its well broken in. As above post says, if its gouged then there is something wrong.

If there's zero anno wear in the breach does that mean it cant possibly be broken in? I've never used this as an indicator and i have a Geo with an unknown shot count and zero breach wear.

I find breach wear, depending on your geography and how down and dirty you get with your gun, starts to show around 20k ISH. Truly noticeable wear around 40k.

The gun most likely is not broken in sufficiently if it has zero breach wear.

I live in El Paso, the dustiest place to play paintball. My Ego 10 breech got destroyed by playing out here and I had to find a way to help slow the process down. Since then my solution to help reduce premature breech wear is to use electrical tape (its flexible) over the slots in the feedneck, I do not pick up my pods and dump any paint that may be left in them, and clean out my pods after throwing them in the dirt. I have done this on several Ego's and Geo's and has seemed to work great.

Thats a good idea, I never thought of taping the slit closed. I've been making sure my breech and bolt are properly lubed after every day of play. Hopefully that will help, I'm about 5 cases in if i had to guess.

To the OP, no it shouldn't effect it. The breech on my SL74 is damn near honed silver (it's the black/chrome colorway, so the body is black) and it shoots very well.

I've had two Geo2's and put almost 30 cases through them with zero breech wear. I try to close my pods before I chuck them, if not I clean them out or don't use them again that day, swab the breech lots, etc. Just regular maintenance on the bolt might not lube it for over a month worth of weekends and still works great.
