Always support your local shop and field if it's within reason. 7am when going to play paintball at a Renegade field, well, it's off to wally world at that time.

I bought a case of the Nightmare last time I was at Walmart. It shoots great but MAN are there some oddly shaped balls in there. Strangely there are no dimples, broken balls or flat spots however about 1 in 50 balls are ovoid. I'm not sure how long the case was sitting in the store.

Seriously though, for Walmart paint I am impressed.

It's RPS. If it's anywhere close to fresh, it can't be too bad.

i agree to an extent, my local fields cheapest white box is $55 a case. I can buy that or I can buy my own for $30-$35 and save that extra $20.

Support your local fields. That 20 dollars adds up. If everyone bought their paint from walmart you wouldn't have any fields to play at.

Anytime I stop by to buy paint I can't even find an employee anyways so I just slice open whatever box I please and go about my business.

Nice. Too bad none of the Walmarts in this city carry anything paintball-related.

IT was a good preformer for me. I inspected a bag of 500 and found that less than 30 were oval in shape.

However the JT Elite Paintballs for under $35 a 2000 pack and they worked better than the Nightmare. I recently bought a case online and shipping was $0.97 so I have a new paintball supplier.

I understand getting a good deal, Im all about that, but please dont give your hard earned money to the evil empire and destroy paintball by spending outside the PB community. It needs all of the dollars it can get!

His field doesn't sell paint and those companies signed a contract to sell their brand to Walmart @ wholesale prices. Fail to see how he isn't keeping the money in pb?

giving your money to the local fields is great, but the local fields gotta realize that it cost us money to play for gear and all that. some local fields gouge and run thier self out of business. I by no means struggle to play paintball saturday and sunday every weekend and typically shoot 2 cases a day. I luckily have a team discount and get a great deal on my paint through my local field. But if this were not the case I would buy my paint wherever it was cheaper. Thats the problem with paintball, Its an expensive hobby and most of the vendors make it impossible for a lot of people to play as much as they would like cause the main thing you need is expensive as **** when buying through the local field or shop. they gotta mark it up to make a profit which drives the cost of paintball up even more.

Im down to only playing once a month or so. I drive 120 miles one way to the field. It cost me $60 in gas to drive back and forth for a days of play. $15 green fees and $55 for a case of paint if bought there. or I can buy my paint for $30-$35 at walmart or academy ( i shoot stingers alot ). That extra $20 adds up and means alot to me whenever deciding if I'm going to play.

Whenever I was still playing PSP, I was sponsored by a different field but got DXS bronze GI 3 star for $30 a case DXS 4 star or DXS Gold for $40 a case. I had no problems buying paint then. But since stopping the tournament scene and just playing occasional rec-ball with tournament level players. I'll stick to my cheap paint.

Not to mention, I get paid once a month now and have to really stretch my money to make it to the end of the month comfortably.

idk i dont bore it, i just put it in my DW null ( fixed .689 ) and shoot it like that.

I've done the whole bore to fit, underbore and overbore and have never been able to tell a difference in the pattern my balls flew, and with stinger they dont fly straight anyway so whats the point

How would you guys compare nightmare to premium? My local shop sells Premium for around $45 a case (used to be a year ago).

My field is BYOP. If I don't get Nightmare or JT Elite from Walmart, I have the JT Entry level paint at $80 a case at the field. I know that you might hate Walmart, but I'd guess that some fields buy their paint there an resell it at a higher price to me.

We all know the margin on paint is over 40% so they make the most on that to begin with. Places that have high overhead costs have field paint only policies. However most of them don't have established business and have taken out loans to startup.

Where I play, Urban Assault, has been in business for well over (or close to) 2 decades and makes eccanomic sense to me at less than 10 inutes away. They have 6 outdoor fields and 1 (soon to be 2) indoor fields for $35 with all day air. They make money or they wouldn't be in business this long (I assume).

What paintball fields is players to come play. If 6 to 10 people come a day, it's not going to cut it. If they get 50 to 40 players a day, then they get by. Owning a field isn't going to get you rich. Paintball is a money pit and no matter what, most fields will go under. Unless you play regularly at a field, it's not going to succed.

Play 2 to 4 times a month and that will help your field stay open. Tip your refs, be respectful and a good member of your field, help the noobs that are first time players to have a good time, don't light up someone with 3 shots when one will do, help keep the game moving so it's more time playing and not waiting. That's more important than buying field paint.

The JT Prmium had less oval balls than the Nightmare. However it broke all the same when I hit my targets.

Thanks, but I was referring to RPS Premium. These companies need to stop copying one another when it comes to naming.
