In Congress, the House and Senate have budget committees tasked with creating concurrent budget resolutions, using the president’s budget as a guide.

The president doesn’t "pass" a budget. That’s Congress’ job.

Clearly, it is the President's fault.

If you want to attack dems for not doing anything with the budget, you only need to look to the CINCs first year. Super majority.

He would have lost the "it's all the Republicans fault we are in this mess because they blocked my reforms" card. Daft son of a *****.

Some epochal legislation was passed in Obama's first year. Democrats accomplished some major, history-changing legislation with the brief supermajority. And thank god for that. They remain some of Obama's biggest accomplishments today.
The senate supermajority was lost 8 months into Obama's first year with the death of Teddy Kennedy. With Republican obstructionism in full swing following the election of the black man, everything has been downhill since then.

Even with the super majority, passing a budget for normal operation was not on the "important things to do" list.
Getting new appliances doesn't mean you are relieved of your responsibility to bring your garbage can to the curb on garbage day.

There were a few more pressing issues. Perhaps you've forgotten but the economy was teetering on the brink of collapse.
But for the record, they did in fact pass the budget out of the house, and it did get voted on in the senate, where it garnered a solid majority of 55 votes.

We've already spent it, have to pay for it somehow.

We shouldn't have any taxes period. Other people's money is not the answer.

It would give people a better idea on what their labor is really work and see what the government really takes.
Also another line to show what they'd have to take if we couldn't borrow money just to show how far we are beyond our means.

If you combine every level of government, I pay about 34% in taxes. To me, that seems a little ridiculous.

we do not have high taxes in one thing, we get taxed, fee, and ticketed to death. do not forget that inflation is also a tax, food is up 100% since 2000. sure glad your pay has gone up that much.
