the Clash, Greenday, Rise Against, Black Flag, Anti Flag, the Alarm, Misfits, AFI, Goo Goo Dolls (first 2-3 albums they put out, not their latest trash).

Clash being my favorite. At least thats my take on punk rock.. (edited, i stand corrected )

It started with Black Flag, DRI, Suicidal Tendencies, etc.

These days is more like Hot Water Music, Small Brown Bike, Jawbreaker.

Pop punk is not new and going around. If anything Pop Punk is kinda dead. It's really starting to move towards more of a Folk/Bluegrass kind of punk. Lucero is a band that comes to mind.

I stand corrected then, its all punk rock to me anyways. Alot of the younger kids around here listen to these wannabee bands and always talk about this "save poppunk" stuff but none of them could name any of the older bands

In no particular order AFI, clash, new found glory, anti flag, alkaline trio, dropkicks, rise against, rancid, NOFX, bouncing souls the gaslight anthem, fifteen. You know the usual suspects. Strike anywhere gets listened too pretty much daily and the band I'm dying to see is A Day to Remember. No one mixes hardcore and pop punk like these guys. They have a new one. Coming out and they are putting it out themselves, if you support D.I.Y. then I would suggest checking it out. The new song right back at it again rocks and is incredibly catchy.

If you like strike anywhere you should listen to Inquisition, the lead singers old band. Saw them with a band called action patrol back in 95 or so.

Fifteen is on of my old faves. Add in stuff like J-Church, Bollweevils, Naked raygun, etc and you have some of my other faves.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the 6 month necro on this thread.

Anyway, I can't wait till it warms up in the northeast so I can drive to/ from work while I blast rancid in the car.

I like a ton of other bands but I can always depend on rancid to get me back on track
