Mazda Thread V1: Everyone else has one, why not us?
Ok yeah this hasn't worked out before. Maybe this one will. Try and keep it civilized. Talk about mazdas. Talk about how gay miatas are. Complain about driving a Ford. Complain about cam driven fuel pumps etc.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2008.5 speed3 until everything they are known for started happening.
Had full TBE
Cobb SRI and Inlet
fuel pump
cobb accessport
cobb fmic
Turbo went, put it back to stock. Dealer replaced the turbo. Drove it for another 36k miles. 2 sets of blown rear struts on stock suspension the entire life of the car, more creaks and rattles than i have ever heard. Also did a A/C compressor. Had the vvt recall done after waiting 6 months for the parts. noise came back 2k miles later. At this point there was another 30k on the second turbo and that one blew. i only DD the car didnt beat on it after it was back to stock. I have a track car to do that with.
At this point I was fed up, out of warranty, and I traded it in with 76k on it, blown turbo, and vvt noise still there. And they gave me 12.2 for it, knowing what it needed.

Shouldn't you have been able to take it back for the vvt stuff? And good k04s are cheap to come by.

is it just me or does anyone else become skeptical when someone says "full bolt-ons" and/or "built motor"? If I had full bolt-ons and a built motor, I would list what those bolt-ons are and the parts put into the motor

Kay, before I did the vta mod I dyno'd 360hp/370tq on e85 with a conservative tune. IAT's were 101, cant remember what the BAT's were. That was with 4-2.5 intake, fmic, 3076r, fp, ap, dp, and ex-mani.
Now I'm doing a built bottom. Already bought basically all my ****, just waiting for time to install/get it.

E85 makes for enjoyable torque numbers on these cars.

I'm about to install my BC coils I just got. What's really cool about them is I live about 10 minutes away from BC's office.

Thinking about buying this RX8. Been driving POS cars my whole life, now I have a secure job and looking to build some credit.
What do you think?

You don't live in Texas, do you?
It's not a bad price, all things considered. Seems to be well taken care of and a relatively new engine.
Also, you're taking out a loan to build credit? Not that I'm suggesting not to get the car, I like it, but have you considered a motorcycle or something? A 250 is like $4000 off the lot. That's what I will be doing here in a few months.
