Thumbs up

the spectra is a great mask. i would reccommend a black jt flex-7, its very comfortable and will bounce chin shots.

i have a spectra...they are good...Flex-7's are the same thing just have a little more protection around the neck. they are one of the most popular masks. thermal are good lenses to get with the mask but i use all kinds of things to keep it from fogging, and i dont have too much trouble but thermals are better...less hastle.

i also have the spectra flex 7. it's pretty nice. My only complaints revolve around the lens. it's pretty **** difficult to remove the lens. the inside of the thermal lense scratches very easily. that's been a problem since day 1 with thermals. and i'm a sweaty bastard so I fog them up. Yes, i have a thermal lens. yes, I'm using the jt fan. I have to wear a head band with the goggles sitting on top of that, and I still fog a little. It doesn't help that I wear glasses. I haven't gotten around to getting contacts yet.

My JT's

I like the fit of my JT Thermal Spectras, but they seem really "wide" at the neck.

The Skull mask is more form fitting. I just wish my JT's fit a little tighter at the neck.

The only real difference between the spectras and the flex-7/ice masks is that the specta is made of a harder plastic while the flex7/ize are made of a flexible material. I dont think ive ever actually got a bounce from the flexable platic. generally it breaks the same..

yah, spectra rules. i got 1 and its got a great field of vision. it fits like a glove too. reely comfortable and thermal lense rules, even tho i never reely fogged up that much before. be sure to get a cool looking lense with it. i got a chrome mirror thermal lense, pretty sweet.

The Spectra, for the money..is hard to beat. I added a X-Wind to mine..and have never fogged. Fits great and does not cost to much on upkeep.(lens replacement)I even read somewhere that it is one of the most popular masks JT ever produced.

Later,

p.s. just an old guys opinion..

Hey have you tried that new Vortex fan? It is suppose to be better than the X wind. Faster fan, and able to change direction of the fan with a flip of the switch. Might actually help you out more. Then again this is only what I heard.

As for goggles I like the standard spectra's. I don't buy the more bounces on the soft rubber theory. I have seen more straight hits to the face because of the soft rubber giving way and allowing the ball though. If I am going to take a face hit I only want to taste paint not paint and blood.

You can use the end of the JT barrel plug to remove the lense.

This happened to me! I got bunkerd and i got shot in my spectra mask 2 times in the chin hard plastic part and they both bounced and i got shot 4 or 5 times in the body and they didnt break either! I was laughing really hard at the end of that game because the guy swore i was out!
