I dont know how anybody can blame Seattle fans for being excited. Sure, calls went against GB late in the game, but there was some PI calls that went against Seattle just the same that extended GB drives. Obviously, the biggest of the bad calls went against GB, the PI on Rice and the PI/Toucherception at the end were both painfully horrible to watch, but no way in hell if I'm a Seahawks fan I'm apologizing today for that win.

I think that he caught the ball. How I see it is that Jennings caught the ball but before he technically had possession of it (feet on the ground), Tate repositioned his hands and grabbed onto the ball as they both hit the ground both with the ball. Making it a simultaneous.

I don't deny that Jennings caught the ball first, but technically, by the rules I think this counts as a simultaneous catch.

If someone caught the ball first, as you said Jennings did, then it is not simultaneous.

A.R. 8.25: First-and-10 on A20. A2 and B3 simultaneously control a pass in the air at the A40. As they land, both players land on their feet and wrestle for the ball on their feet. Eventually, B3 takes the ball away from A2 and is tackled at the A38.

Ruling: B’s ball, first-and-10 on A38. Until one of the players in simultaneous possession of the ball goes to the ground or out of bounds, the ball remains alive.



edit: actually the rule they list under that, overrules that. Looks like they made the wrong call.

A.R. 8.29: First-and-10 on A20. B3 controls a pass in the air at the A40 before A2, who then also controls the ball before they land. As they land, A2 and B3 fall down to the ground.

Ruling: B’s ball, first-and-10 on A40. Not a simultaneous catch as B3 gains control first and retains control.
