1. They matchup poorly against Baltimore. I stated numerous times in numerous threads during the playoffs and before the playoffs even started that the Ravens would be the worst team the Pats could face in the playoffs. They were.
2. Talib was out. This is the biggest reason outside of matchup issues. With their best physical corner out Flacco was able to open it up and pass all over New England's defense in the second half. I don't know that a different result would have come if Talib didn't get injured, but it definitely would have been a closer game.
3. New England couldn't get pressure on Flacco in the second half. They seemed content to try and control the run game but in the second half they just let Flacco sit back in the pocket and pick them apart.
4. Gronk was out. Don't get me wrong, Gronk is a huge threat and and great playmaker, but I think this one makes the least difference out of any on this list. Without their top corner and without the ability to get pressure on Flacco, New England wouldn't have won even with a healthy Gronk in the game.
