I hate not being able to sleep. 3-4 hours a day is not healthy.

So, I tried to join the Air Force about 2 years ago, but then got into a car accident where I injured my knee and was told I had to wait a year. My knee is 100% now and all that **** and I should be good to go. Im just wondering if I have to refill out the sf-86 or would it still be on record? It was only filled out in the recruiters office and I never took it to MEPs. Just want to know if I need to bring all of the info back in or if its already there. Want to get the process done as quickly as possible. I tried calling the recruiter I will be seeing but he hasn't answered yet and I cant just stop in since I am 3000 miles away currently.

If you never took it to MEPS it's doubtful it's been kept in the system up there. You would have to get a hold of the recruiter you had previously to get a new copy of whatever form you need and have them fax or email it to whatever recruiter you are going to be with now. Is it harder to get the form redone or something considering your so far away anyway? idk what this form is so me being able to give you advice is limited really...

It wont be hard to re-do it once I go visit the recruiter (Im moving in a couple of days) Just want it to go as quick as possible and the sf-86 form is a pain in the *** so if I DIDN'T have to re-do the form, that would be ideal. However, if I do have to then so be it, just want to be prepared.

No clue what it is but my guess is if u never went to Meps then u start for square one
Curious to see how long the wait is to ship to basic
I waited 4 months after I signed my contract for my AFSC
I've heard of people waiting up to a year for a job then waiting to ship

Yea i really hope i dont have to wait up to a year. Assuming I pass the depth perception test I am putting down 4 or 5 air crew jobs, still photography and radio/tv broadcasting. If after a couple of months of waiting with those if I dont book anything, I will add other jobs

Yea, thats why I don't have my hopes too high on it, but when I took the asvab last time i scored a 91 so I should score around that this time, hopefully higher. Not sure if it increases my chance for an air crew job or not. Either way, not too picky, just going to give it a shot and if I don't land one ill add others or ship open. Doesnt really matter that much to me. Can always cross train at a later date.

High asvab score probably isn't as important as passing a flight physical
My high asvab score landed me in the avionics career field
My buddy maxed the asvab and is battle management

Another question I have, which I also posted on military.com, just trying to get as many responses as I can knowledgeable people, is: I had troubles sleeping for a bit and was prescribed ambien for a couple of months. I am off it now, and the reason for lack of sleep just ended up being work either 3-11pm or 3p-3a at one job and then going and working at my other place as well, just kinda threw my sleep schedule out of order. Will this keep me from joining? or is it a non issue as long as I am off it now.

ouuu that's one of those things that your mistaken happened because it must have been a dream you had IF it wasn't anything serious..
and yeah i would wait a day or two to hear back from your old recruiter if not than just start from scratch cause it's not at meps I can almost guarantee. And there are a lot of career fields that are critically manned right now so before you give them your list in that office just ask and see if they can tell you which ones are critically manned or not. Or give them the list and play the waiting game...

(Without doing much research from pure laziness)
Does anyone now about the legalities of radar detectors while on base?
Never mind, after about 30 seconds of research I found that they are banned on all military installations.

I am sad to report today that the youngest LT in my unit went to supply to see about getting thirty yards of flight line and also some ID10T forms instead of picking up on it being bull****. Although everybody he went to carried on with the gag until he realized his error.

Fantastic. Tomorrow see if he can go get batteries for his the chem lights.
I always liked the Christmas bonus prank for enlisted folks. Go to finance to claim your bonus. $100 per stripe.

I've killed people for less...
today was also an awesome day. There's absolutely no way in hell they're ever going to stick me back in the job I came from.
