That sounds like unusual wear and tear to me.

Lemon law has a time period, something like 90 days, IIRC. Probably not 90 days, but it doesn't last the life of the car either.

Basically, if you buy a lemon (a car that has intrinsic problems from the factory that can't/way too difficult to be taken care of with warranty work) you can either get your money back or get a new car.

Good law. I wonder how often it gets invoked.

Not often. Most problems can be fixed with warranty work. If lemon law is invoked, you've probably been in court with the dealership for a while.

Not often.
Most things are up to snuff, and it will actually be cheaper for a stealership to replace an engine and power train than to scrap a vehicle and replace it for you.. (I would hope they would try to find out what caused the problems, but realistically they don't)

It's something like same problem persist 3 times in one year within the first year of ownership then you can get a new vehicle. Unless its very obvious the manufacture would lose, they will fight you in it and try and keep it warrantee work.
And I'm pretty sure lemon laws are state laws not a federal law.

Its a 1996, well beyond the statute of limitations on this car. It ran well for the first 8 years or so. Then it sat for a little while, had the fuel pump replaced, and then it just kinda died out again.

To be fair 8 years for a car, even a Jag, is a long time. It's 18 years old now, that's to be expected. Most cars aren't designed to last that long.

It more than likely was released in '95, but we're going off of the chance that it wasn't sold in '95 therefore it would be a '96.

That car is literally my moms dream car, and I dont mind helping fix that thing up if it makes her happy. She just had it painted again, and should have it by the end of the week.
Also LOL at canadian math.
