Slag weapons and then some kind of elemental weapon to follow it up works the best on those giant threshers. Aim for the eyes for criticals as well.
Also, don't be afraid to run. And don't kill the tendrils as bad as that sounds, you can off one for a second wind.

at the same time though, if you kill the tendrils the thresher only has about 1/4 of its health left.

It's kind of one of those 'damned if you do and damned if you don't' things. I keep the tendrils alive myself after taking a beating from a badass pyro thresher.

Three dropped today actually. One at midnight eastern time, one at 6 am eastern, and one just now at 4 pm eastern. Everything is off of Central time though. So really they did it at 11 pm yesterday, 5 am, and 3 pm today. Yeah, I stayed up for the midnight key and got the other before work this morning.

Used that one, got a grenade that does 16k blast damage and 1800 corrode damage per second. It also has singularity. Win!

Gaiges' twitter page is pretty funny. Apparently she loves ducks.
Still chugging away in my first play through. Level 32, not getting anything overly impressive on my key drops. Still using two of the weapons I got though and a grenade but kind of meh overall. My Tediore smg still wrecks fools though. And I love being able to hit guys with the gun when it's empty or near empty.

I got a badass sniper at level 42 that I still use 5 levels later. A nice Jacobs doing almost 10k damage that crits for 80k almost. I am waiting until I hit 50 before I use any of my keys because it will be a waste to use them early and out level what I get in a few hours.
Definitely gonna pick up the mechromancer as it looks pretty cool.

Late to the "post your awesome guns" party, but whatever.
Friggin' pocket sniper, and I love it. Gunzerking with that and a pretty legit SMG I found that does about 1800 base damage plus almost 3k/second corrode, cuts through everything up to about WAR loaders like butter. I'm at 48 now, still using this guy, because it's OP as hell. |

5 is much much worse. I got there, spent about a good 40/45 minutes on the fight and only to die in some cheap way and close to running out of ammo.
I think I am lvl 38/39.

Gonna have to wait for the DLC that raises the level cap, this thing is still my best gun in terms of damage output (aside from launchers) and probably will be for a while. It's practically an auto-revive if anything is near me when I get downed, and if that's not working, I grabbed the skill tree thing that lets me gunzerk while downed. |
