Got a Jakobs sniper that does 4300 or so base damage, it's a keeper. Goes well with my 2000+ base Jakobs pistol and my coach gun.
Also, whatever tree item that is for gunzerker that gives you a chance of not consuming ammo every shot based on shield and health levels, up the **** out of that and use shotguns, practically an auto-revive.
I can't believe how much the weapons scale and everything scales really. I was getting pounded using level 33 and 34 weapons while I was level 38, and didn't realize how important keeping up with that stuff was. Good job gear box to keep us from focusing on using only a few guns for the entire game!
are you doing it the insanely hard way or getting the bee shield and basically 2 shotting him?
Well, we were doing it the hard way. But we found a "dead zone" in the map that he can't touch you. So my friend playing as the Commando would hide in that spot, toss out his turrets and take all the aggro while me (Assassin) and my other roomie (Siren) sit high up on the rocks and blast him with crits, reviving each other as often as we can.
But then we got Bee shields and now it's just a hilarious 2-shot fest.
Also, lol at everyone posting up 6k sniper rifles. Wait until you seen how much the damage amps up when you go from level 47-50. I have snipers in my inventory that do 12k base damage, another 6 or 7k worth of elemental, and when I stack my crits, I'm doing an easy 165k of damage. I'm not even a 50 yet. I've seen snipers with almost twice that damage drop from Terramorphus.

so i'm doing my thing killing a huge swarm of varkids for a quest when one evolves into an 'ultimate badass varkid' the size of a bus. kills me in two hits, has seemingly endless HP, and is patrolling right where i need to go for the quest. died about 8 times so far. ****.
Yeah I ****ed up and let one evolve into that in the creature dome. Kicked my ***.
Also, logged in on split screen under another profile. Made a gunserker, and have just been farming XP with my lvl 48 Assasin on my REAL profile to get him to 50 as fast as possible. Then, I'll use that lvl 50 to level any character I make under my actual XBL profile.
Lots of work, but it's easier than just doing quests, even though I'll still have to beat both story playthroughs with every character I make. However this way, I can get a lvl 50 from the very beginning of the game, blast through the story, and at the same time pick up every quest reward at their maximum levels.

this guy just joined my game and dumped at least 15 legendary guns on the ground and then left. i have so much firepower now i don't even know what to do with myself.
Come give me some of the firepower lol. My guns are realllly out dated at the moment. Only because the scaling jumped a lot in the past few levels. I'm level 37 using 34, 35, 35, 26. Meh.

How old is she supposed to be? Because however old it is, it can't be old enough for the way they made her look in that portrait. Video game developers are weird sometimes...
