things I notice in the first shot especially, scale of the maps looks vastly improved, by that I mean the feeling of "huge" (u know that feel bro?)

birds in the first pic make me hope that there will be wildlife in MP

particle effects and the level of detail are vastly improved

supposedly they were using an updated frostbite engine (2.5) however I believe they are officially labeling it frostbite 3 now

random weather effects confirmed, rain, snow, dust storms, etc.

confirmed for current gen (360, PS3) although why bother

confirmed for next gen hardware (ps4, nextbox)

primarily developed for PC, so of course confirmed for the master race

rumor has it that 360 and PS3 will stick with 24 player online, and the next gen consoles and master race will be using 64 player

trailer will be out officially tommorrow, although there are ****ty leaked versions all over right now, will update once I get a good source

I may be wrong on this, but wasn't BF3 originally developed for the PC, but then but was decided to be scraped halfway through and ended up as a console port?

I never heard that...?

I always heard its PC through and through, as it should be, then ported to the consoles.

i cant believe they are seriously about to do another modern warfare brown and bloom FPS. what happened to 2143? what happened to BC3? i was pretty annoyed by a lot of things in BF3 (pay2unlock kits, premium, that completely asinine blue filter, meat grinder maps, health regen, battlelog, etc.). i want to believe that it will be good, really, i do. but even with john rigatoni out of the picture i still dont think there's hope. EA is so focused on 'making games more accessible' and raking in the dosh i fear they will beat every single penny out of the franchise until it is long dead.

edit- also lol @ using rihanna in the UK trailer. just finished watching the 17 minute gameplay footage trailer... honestly, it was much more visually appealing than BF3. the blue tint was only noticeable during one sequence, otherwise things looked a lot more toned down. too bad the trailer was single player footage only, i'm far more curious about the multiplayer. i'm cautiously optimistic but still very wary about putting my full faith in DICE again and getting my hopes up. i'd rather be surprised by an unexpectedly good game as opposed to being let down after getting hyped for months.

Premium killed it for me, and the blue tint was unrealistic...

and I remember people having BF3 crashing problems on release date lulz...

It looks insanely good, but that is just 17mins of gameplay. Who knows what the rest will be like...

Watched through it again today and paid a bit more attention. I was (not) surprised to see just how many assets they reused. The enemies are the exact same models from BF3 multiplayer, their voices (and many other sounds) are also ripped right from BF3. Something tells me seeing reused cars and buildings is only a matter of time.

Also lol @ their promise of 'enhanced' destruction. It sounds really familiar, I wonder where ive heard that. Oh wait they promised the same exact thing for BF3

Vote with your wallets. Part of the problem is that a lot of people are suckered into buying the expansion packs, etc. I for one will not buy this game... and I used to be a fan of the series from 1942 right until BC2.

And as linear as BC2 is, I still enjoyed it more than BF3... I think that says it all, personally.

Alls I can say is I will NOT be buying it. Looks like BF3 with new maps. Sounds like another franchise we all know..

With BF3, they had claimed for a year or so that it was primarily made for PC then ported over. Even a few days before release, EA was telling people they had only recently begun the port over. It wasn't until a few weeks after release they told people it was many months before release that it actually happened.

EA is a joke, and I hate to see DICE, a company that probably tries to put out a good product, hurting because of them.

Pretty much the only thing that can redeem the battlefield franchise is full on mod tools and custom content support. And based on DICE/EAs comment that their fan base is too stupid to make mods for BF3, I dont see mod tools making an appearance in BF4.

I agree about this re-using almost everything from 3, now I can see how they pushed the release window so close

but for me thats not really a negative, I enjoy 3 so much that Im glad it will be "3 with better graphics more guns and more levels".

BF3 didnt really need anything more IMO accept more guns, levels, vehicles, and destruction, which 4 is promising, so Im cool with that

Ill be playing the **** out of this for sure but I can certainly see why you guys wont be
