You're implying that you didn't make good decisions? (didn't/don't)

No at 17 I made horrible driving decisions. I was immature and did stupid ****. If I did that stupid **** on 2 wheels I would definitely not be here right now.

You don't need a go fast bike at your age. We have enough idiots on the roads who drive ricers, we definitely don't need you on a bike mixed into that. Besides, it's NY, you're really not going to get open roads to go fast if you live either in the city or in one of the 5 boroughs. I'd say wait until you're at least out of college to get a bike. By then you would hopefully have matured and can make a decision without the deciding factor of wanting to look cool and attracting the ladies as your best argument for getting a bike.

Yeah, ****ty NY drivers are bad
But I live near open forest roads and scenic places. Oh and big highways.

Speaking of bad drivers in NY
Heard a car tires screech against the pavement, so I went outside to look
Flipped car
1 person got ejected
1 upside down in the car
Saw both get carted off.
tl;dr
watched 2 dead people from a flipped car get put onto stretchers.

California drivers make NY drivers look infallible.

That sucks... I've seen a flipped jeep before, they were heading down a service road trying to beat the light, but I guess they didn't time it right and when the light went green a guy in his minivan drove directly in front of them and the jeep t-boned him and flipped onto it's roof. Skidded a good 50 feet at least. Don't know what happened to the guy in the jeep, but the guy in the minivan was alive and seemed to be unharmed for the most part. He was lucky the guy struck him in the front quarter panel instead of right in the driver side door.
Edit: I've been to cali before and your drivers aren't too bad. The scariest drivers I've seen are in Italy. Total disregard for anything and everything on the road.
Well, actually, the scariest drivers I've seen but not experienced are videos from either russia or china.

Because being an economic power and designing and fielding an aircraft carrier are VERY different things.
And they didn't build it, they refurbished a cold war era soviet carrier. it's almost 25 years old already.

That **** doesn't even work efficiently yet. It's being beta tested. No planes or guns on it yet

If there is one thing Asians are good at (and there are hundreds) it's killing whales and dolphins.
