Pulldowns alone can make ive you a nice vshape. Deadlifts alonedon't will neverthe give youyour that/

Any hypertrophy effect from deadlifts will be minuscule and barely noticable.

after weeks of stagnant lifts in the gym, decided to dose up on 400mg caffeine (first time in months). best gym day in a long time, set some progress.

chest/tri
flat BB warmup/pre: 135x3, 225x1 (way easier than previous week, set the pace for rest of the session)
flat bb bench: 210x7 (+2 reps), 210x5, 210x4, 200x6, 200x5
incline db bench: 85s x7(+5lbs), 80s x10, 75s x9, 65s x8
cable crossovers: 5x20 @ 13lb
cable chest press: 3x12 x light weight
cg cable pushdowns: 3x10
unilateral cable pulldowns: 3x12

This argument is retarded. Deadlifts may build your upper back decently if you have good luck genetically. Pulldowns physically CANNOT build you lower back. Therefore, if you do only one only, do deadlifts.

However if you're not doing a vertical pull, your routine is Shorty anyways, so again, this entire discussion is ****ing retarded. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.

I just made that factoid up, for the record. Jay definitely does a lot of things other than pulldowns. I know Phil Heath was really big on deadlifts at one point, but I think the video I saw of that was well before he won the O.

Pulldowns change your physique much more than deadlifts do, it's common sense. So do squats.
