several players at my field play with the sniper. I have seen them wreck the other team including the semi's. Nice marker, little more money than the phantom or azodin but if you like playing pump I think its worth the money.

If you want to save up $150 more, the Sniper is amazing. Otherwise your best bet is probably to get an old autococker. Wouldn't recommend getting into stock class right off the bat, but it's really what you want.

Start out with a cocker, they are ultra accurate.

You can never go wrong with a nice used pump from the bst, look for one that is ccm'd with an autotrigger kit should be able to get a nice one for 300.

Not to go too far off topic here. But what is the stockclass "take" on having the feedtube pointed towards the muzzle instead of the shooter?
I've been "walking" pop-cans in my yard on autotrigger with my stock class Phantom. If I reversed the feed tube I could unload a 10 round tube in a hair over a second in a game
For reference the first time I ever accidentally overshot somebody was back in 92' AT'ing with an Apex Elite. There was a lot of brush between me and the target so I just started pumping. 5 of 6 rounds found their intended target.
I probably should ease back into pump by playing open-class but I'm trying modified stockclass first.

Either way is considered acceptable, but there is a slight edge to back-facing for the reason you noted. Yes you can autotrigger in whatever direction gravity allows you to feed balls, i.e. downward with back-facing tube, and upward with front-facing tube.
When you bunker someone, you are almost always shooting at a downward angle, which allows you to autotrigger. But you can sort of achieve the same thing by double or triple loading.

I'd vote for phantom. I started with one and am definitely going to pick one up to go back to it. Comfy and light and in a good price range.

keyton, I was raised on nelson valved guns like the Phantom I ran a SL-68 (1) for a long time then a sooped up PGP even longer.
I have handled & shot the Azodin KP and to be fair I liked it. Its very light weight(not Phantom class but light) & feels solid. But I think as you progress as a pumper you will have very limited options for setting it up they way you want it.
If I were you I'd go get a Autococker that has been turned back into a pump on the cheap. Its; cocker threaded (so a bazillion barrel options), you could gut it and replace with all CCM parts if you wanted and there is very little else you can't do.
No auto-trigger? No biggie the cocker I was screwing with I could time my trigger finger and pump stroke to the point where it wasn't noticibly different from using AT.
Having said all of that I am currently running a Modified StockClass Phantom

I'd touch a kp. I guess I wouldn't buy one over a good sniper, but then again I can afford to make that choice.
