Got my kit today, I noticed how much bigger diameter the valve guide is compared to the stock one. After a quick install I noticed the gun was WAY quieter. I'll be running it this weekend and I'll try and get a shooting video of it.

anybody noticed a smoother shot? i still haven't picked one up yet but my friend has and we haven't got the time to try it out. Imagine how much smoother or quieter it will be once the bolt and o rings are broken in.

Hey this just happened to me i'm gonna try pulling it apart and I sort of figured it had to do with the valve guide maybe being somewhat misaligned. What worked for you?

nvm I got it to work.

Just shot a hopper through mine didn't hear a big difference in sound and the kick was reduced a bit. I am in need of servicing my regs so I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it. I also adjusted the velocity up after shooting reballs all last night. I'm hoping to test it out more this sunday and tune it a bit see if I get better results.

I couldn't do much of an efficiency test with one hopper obviously but I was below 1000 and the meter hardly moved after I shot a hopper so that's one good sign.

Another good note while I didn't feel a huge difference in kick or sound (I had no idea what I was chronoed at but seemed around 285-300 range judging by the distance) The gun seemed to be more accurate so I'm guessing my consistency improved I used some crappy paint that usually had a much larger spread then it did just now.

I can't make an accurate review off one hopper full especially since the o rings on the bolt are not even broken in but just sharing my input so far.

You really shouldn't give a review without shooting it over chrono first. Distance is not anywhere near an accurate way of guessing velocity. You could have easily been shooting well over 300fps.

That's why I said I couldn't give an accurate review I'm just sharing the little experience I had with it so far, and I hope I was shooting over 300.

I'm going to do an actual review after this sunday, when I use it at the field and I can tune the gun a bit. The point of writing this was just to show that even without knowing what my velocity was set to (which could be higher like you said),I felt my consistency must have improved a good amount since the paint I shot had a much tighter groupings compared to using the stock bolt shooting the same paint barrel etc.

Got mine put in today. Brand new marker out of the box all stock settings on board, lpr, hpr was set to 280 and was +/- 2fps . One of the most consistant markers I have ever owned including previous Ego's. Installed the D.A.R.T kit and was 301-304. Adjusted the reg to 279 and shot 10 shots at 279,279,278,278,276,278,276,280,278,280 All over a Master F-1 Shooting Chrony. I am very happy so far. Sound signature was slightly more pleasing and kick felt about the same I guess. I frequently shoot .308 rifles , so to say a paintball marker has "Kick" makes me laugh. All in all, well worth the money spent. I can not wait to get this thing broke in so I can start playing with settings.

Curious that they have added more mass to the cycle. I thought the new zick 2 was to reduce mass in order to have a softer cycle. Couldnt the older ego's just get the older zick 1 with a pooty bolt to get the same affect as the dart kit?

There is no way you can recreate this kit for other guns with a pooty bolt and zick......... the magic is in the new weighted bolt, valve guide and weighted poppit

The weight of the stock bolt is much less than the dart bolt. I don't have a scale or I'd give exact numbers. I can pretty much guarantee the difference is much more than in the weight of the zick1 compared to the zick2

whether the weight is in the bolt or in the ram, it still is mass having to be cycled by air. PE couldnt just go backwards on the zick, by adding weight, so how else would they engineer more mass. The bolt would be the most logical place. Also, if the rammer had more mass it would add more stress to the o-rings. So the o-rings on the bolt could have a dual function. They distribute the mass having to be cycled and seal the passage of air making it more efficient. Thumbs up for clever designing! But I think the older markers could get the same affect with a zick 1 and a pooty bolt. The only thing they cant do is adjust the solenoid pressures. Tell me if Im wrong, but didnt they go lighter with the rammer for faster cycle speeds. And now with the leagues capping the speeds the consumer wants a smoother shot instead. PE certainly got their fingers on the pulse of paintball!

I'm sure the rammers weigh close to the same but your still over looking the valve/poppit

I have it installed, not likely to get pics before practice Sunday. The top portion of the bolt sticks out the rear. Not sure why a bolt intended for the CSL/Ego11 does not match either. Sure, function before style....

Actually it seemed to match in the pic of the Vicious Ego11 that someone already posted, I believe, in this very thread.

Well there you go. It looked a bit shallow, but the shape looks the same. Perhaps I can just Dremel off that little bit of delrin.

That's what I was thinking if it stuck out. If there is no risk of messing up the bolt then I was thinking it could just be trimmed down a bit to fit. I think they should have just cut it for the CSL so it fit both models without sticking out.

That doesn't look too bad. Looks like trimming it down may be cutting it close to the pin.
