Yep, we will make sure of it. Yes, a Saturday scenario in the winter. Our first and I hope its not the last. We are fired up about getting some intense outdoor paintball in the snow covered fields. We have a big building for staging and warming up also. Maybe even some hot chocolate! Hope to see lots of players out there!

Press Release:

Welcome all interested in Commandoís first ever winter scenario. This is your number one source for information about what is sure to be the best winter scenario in Wisconsin. Starting this week and running up to the scenario we will be posting new tantalizing tidbits of scenario news daily (Monday-Friday).

Todayís Topic- Team: Rebel Alliance,

For those of you who are not Star Wars buffs the two forces at odds in this universe are the Rebel Alliance vs the Galactic Empire. The Rebel Alliance embodies freedom and good. While the Galactic Empire represents control and evil.

If you as a player end up fighting with the Rebel Alliance there are some things you should expect. First the Rebel Alliance has limited resources. Your team will have make the most out of every fighter, bunker, and minute in order to come out victorious. Planning will make the difference between victory and defeat in upcoming battles.

As a member of the Rebel Alliance on Hoth you will be tasked mostly with defense of key installation and areas. This means setting up overlapping fields of fire, identifying choke points, and conserving ammo to last throughout the fight. Communication amongst team members is the only way you will survive.

While defending your assigned areaís it would be wise to understand what you are defending at each location. For example you may need to survive a set amount of time while maintaing a perimeter while other times you will need to accomplish a task such as loading a transport ship. Each mission requires defense of an area but how manpower is utilized makes a large difference in your chance of success.

Another important consideration is manpower for the Rebel Alliance. As a Rebel soldier you will not typically get extra respawns to defend a position. Once a Rebel soldier is shot out they must report to the next defensive position to prepare. While the enemies Rebel soldiers face will seem to have endless supplies of troops.

The color for the Rebel Alliance is red, and it will be the referee with the red flag who will be your go to for intel and objectives. If you need to leave the field to resupply or warm up go to the red flag to get up to date on what your objective.

That is all the intel for today. If you have questions I would encourage to post questions on our PbNation thread.

Todays Topic- Team: Galactic Empire,

Last time we talked about what it will be like to a member of the Rebel Alliance, today we will talk about what it will be like to be a member of the Galactic Empire. As a member of the Empire you will join a team which relies on overwhelming firepower and resources to crush any opposition. Your objective is to bring about order to a chaotic galaxy.

As a member of the Empire you will have the luxury of nearly unlimited resources. While your opponents will be forced to make every man count, you will be able to throw massed attacks against positions. However victory is not a guarantee and planning will be of the utmost importance.

During the upcoming battle of Hoth you will be tasked with destroying key installations, stealing data, and eliminating key Rebel personnel. Almost all of your mission will involve attacking a fortified Rebel position. It is important to be aware of the mission constraints for your attack. For example some attacks will be based on time. Meaning your team will have a set amount of time to take a position. Other times however you may need to eliminate a key Rebel officer before a transport can recover him from the area.

These mission constraints will place an importance on aggression. While it is true your enemy will only have a limited number of defenders, if your team gets bogged down you will surely lose. A good tactic would be to scope out each objective and launch a coordinated frontal assault then launch a secondary attack from the sides. This tactic will increase the area each enemy defender must cover and decrease their effectiveness.

The color that will be used for the Galactic Empire for this event will be blue. All players on your team will be marked with a blue armband and your flag will be blue. If you are eliminated your respawn point will be the referee with the blue flag. Remember that you will have unlimited lives but need to return to the flag every time you are eliminated. Also the referee with the blue flag will serve as you go to person for information about objectives. He will tell you where to go and what to do. If you need to resupply off the field during the day seek out the blue referee before joining back in the game.

That is all for todays update. The event is coming up and I would love to here your thoughts. I will be answering questions on our PbNation thread and our Facebook event page. Also if you are planning to come please give a shout out on our Facebook, so I can get enough armbands and other logistical stuff ready. Plus I may be adding something to our fields for this event and a head count would help in me prepare for that, but more on that later...

Topic- Mission 1 the Orbital Cannon

Todays update is an outline of the first mission of the Empire Strikes Back scenario. I will cover the background of the mission, what each side needs to do, and the how scoring will work for each team. The backdrop for this mission is that the invasion of Hoth has just begun. Rebel forces are trying to evacuate the ice planet as fast as possible before more Imperial forces can be deployed and crush the Rebellion.

One of the most effective means of defense at the Rebelís disposal is a large cannon that can clear the skies of Imperial air support. This cannon is buried deep within a mountain range and resistant to aerial bombardment. The fastest way the to disable the cannon is to destroy the control tower located near the Rebel base on Hoth.

As a member of the Empire team you must attack and destroy this control tower. To do this a member of your team will be given an explosive to plant at the base of the tower. The tower has three stories but the charge only needs to be placed under the tower on the ground level. Every 15 minutes of battle an extra explosive charge will be placed on the field for your use. If a carrier of an explosive is eliminated they must drop the explosive. Once an explosive is dropped any player (Rebel or Empire) may pick it up.

Due to Rebel air support a safe landing zone is located initially farther away. As the battle progresses Imperial bombers knock out more and more of the cannons ability to function and allow for insertion closer to the mission; however, this bombardment is costly in aircraft that will be shot down while trying to destroy the cannon. Your team must take the control tower quickly to save ships and pilots.

Scoring for the Empire consists of a 200 point max score with decreasing intervals every 15 minutes. So if within the first 15 minutes the Empire destroys the tower 200 points will be awarded. If the mission takes 37 minutes to complete the Empire will be awarded 150 points.

As a member of the Rebelís you will be tasked with defending the control tower. Your team will only be allowed in a set permitter of defense. The longer the tower stays active the more troops and supplies the Rebellion will be able to safely get off of Hoth, and the more damage it will inflict on the Empire.

Rebel Command has determined the defense of the tower a top priority, and will funnel as much resources as possible to its defense. It is known by Rebel Command that eventually bombing will knock out the cannon. This means the flow of supplies to defense of the tower will start off strong and diminish as bombing runs cripple the cannon more and more.

Scoring will be based on 15 minuted intervals opposite that of the Empire team. Meaning the Rebel team will start with 0 points and earn 25 points for every 15 minutes they hold out. Example the Rebel team holds out 5 minutes 0 points will be earned. If the rebel team holds out 57 minutes then 75 points will be earned. A bonus objective for the Rebel team is to capture enemy explosive charges. A 5 point bonus will be given for each explosive recovered and given to the Red referee.

Rebel reinforcements will be deployed at 5, 15, 30, and 60 minute marks into the battle. Rebel players who were eliminated will collect on near the Red reff and on his direction will be placed back into the defensive line. If the defensive line of the base is compromised the Red reff can opt not to insert reinforcements. After the final insertion eliminated Rebel players will be directed to the next objective to prepare their defenses.

And that is Mission 1. I will get more of the missions up as the date gets closer. If you have any questions or concerns please give a shout on either our Facebook page or our PbNation thread. I would like to remind everyone that they can save some money by preregistering by calling 826-5554.
